Guys, this is something we have been working on with Mark Housel at L&M Precision Gun Works. Its currently in the prototype phase, but should be ready for prime-time in the not to distant future.

It is a Unity Tactical design, and L&M will have exclusive rights to the mill service.

Mark offers world class service and an excellent price and quick turn-around.

Its a standardized interface system to allow users to get their slide milled once and switch optics as they please. Its also future optic compatible (to an extent), so you won't have to get another slide or get it re-milled for the next generation of micro dots. Simply buy the adapter plate to fit.

We are starting with Glocks & M&Ps using the Aimpoint T-1, Trijicon RMR, and Leupold Deltapoint. Other optics and platforms will eventually be available.

Please let me know if you have any questions. We would LOVE to hear some feedback. Thanks

Beautiful looking work. Love the grip texture on the slide. The co-witness is a huge extra. Would you have to change out the recoil spring or is it a push with the slide material being removed? The look with the reflex red dot type sight looks great, little bulky with the aimpoint IMO.

Looks great, and love the idea. Only questions I have are: Why have the rear sight in front of the optic? Would it be possible to mount the optic in front and do you have any plans do offer a choice between the two?

Vern, net weight increase with the T-1 is 2.0 Ounces, only 0.3 with the RMR. You will not need to swap springs at all.

Schatten, there is no way to offer the rear sight behind the optic unfortunately, there are mechanical constraints that prevent this. We looked at it very hard, unfortunately, no dice.

Thanks

I like the concept, but don't like the rear sight placement. I get the desire to co-witness, but you end up cheating yourself out of an obvious option - an adjustable rear sight to take the place of the red-dot-sight mount.

I'd leave the rear sight off. It will save you a milling step. Make your mount quick detachable, and make a rear sight you can sanp on in place of the red dot platform.

Ditto, and to add my $0.02 you lose a ton of your sight radius with the rear moved up that high. I think there is a reason most race guns use a different setup.

Thanks for the answer. RowlandP's idea sounds like a winner to me. Any possibility of that idea coming to fruition?

You can get the slide milled for just the ATOM interface, without the rear sight cutout. We we will have adapter plates that use standard glock sights in the event you want to shoot irons.

The-S, yes, the sight radius is shorter, but they are backup sights. I have shot 4 RMR's over 4 years time without an issue on pistols, and T-1s for the same time-frame, again without issues. The sights are still perfectly usable, but you are correct, the sight radius is shorter.

The RMR / T-1 is the primary sighting device.

Thanks

Awesome. Again, great looking product, and thanks for the timely answers. One last question: Do you have a current price estimate?

Unity Tactical is proud to open the Pre-Order list for our Atom Mounting System. It is the most modular and adaptive system for mounting an optic to your pistol available.

This Pre-Order is only for Glocks (To exclude .45’s). We are actively working on the M&P system followed by .45 caliber Glocks.

Initially we will offer adapter plates for the following optics:

• Aimpoint T-1
• Trijicon RMR
• Leupold Deltapoint
• Insight MRDS
• Glock Iron Sight / Blank Adapter

The pre-order list is first come first serve, we hope to keep lead times as short as possible, however an initial rush may be encountered. Once you are on the list you will get an email when your number is up.

You will send your slide(s) to Mark Housel at L&M Precision Gunworks, LLC for the service. L&M will have adapter plates on-hand and will complete all of the services at this shop.

Mark Housel
1621 Spruce Canyon Drive
Prescott, AZ 86303

Mark is well known in the industry for his attention to detail, quick turn-around times, and fair pricing. You will work directly with him to complete your order.

We have established some PRELIMINARY pricing, it is subject to change, but should not fluctuate much if at all.

• Slide Milling with Refinish of Milled Area - $175
• BUIS Dovetail – Optional - $35 – BUIS can only be mounted in front of the optic, not behind.
• Ameriglo Suppressor Height BUIS- Optional - $45
• Adapter Plate of your Choice - $45

Mark also offers a host of other services that will be available at the same time if you are interested.

One note about the BUIS. The BUIS dovetail depth must be reduced slightly as well as the Dovetail depth on the gun. The BUIS that you purchase with this system can only be used on an ATOM equipped gun. You cannot use any other BUIS without modification (Unless you use an Iron Sight Adapters) – This is not our attempt to sell more Iron Sight Adapters, but rather a constraint put on us by the safety plunger channel.

The Pre-Order list is non-binding, You will have 14 days to send your slide in once we send notification. If you do not, we will assume you are no longer interested and bump your spot. Please do not pre-order if you do not intend to have the service completed. It will slow the process down.

Please send an email to: Atom.Preorder@unitytactical.com with the following Information

Subject: Atom Preorder

Name - Required
Email Address – Required – Please include in the body of the email.
Forum Name (If you have one)

Number of Slides you will be sending - Required
Number and Type of Adapters you are interested in – (Again, Non-Binding, but it helps us with ordering enough) - Required

Thank you for your interest, we appreciate your business and look forward to earning more of it in the future. We hope to get a revamped website up in the near future as well as the release of some new products.

Thank you

"We are actively working on the M&P system..."

Any idea when you'll begin offering the mod to the M&P platform...particularly the .45?

Seems like there would be a market selling these as new slides, instead of just the conversion.

About the M&P's when they come available... the longslides (9L and pro series) have different front sight heights than the standard/full size models, will that difference be accounted for with the backup sights?

I saw this on "RETREATHELL"'s youtube video. Interesting, but not my thing.

Stick - We will be releasing new slides (Well, aftermarket slides). The first available should be G17 and G22 in Black and FDE. Followed by other models. We hope to have them available the same time the adapters are finished.

Aragorn - The new iron sights will be the same height. You can always replace the front with a dawson precision to get the height you would like. Hope that helped.

Is there a projected date the machining will start? I was getting ready to send a M&P slide out this week but may hold off after seeing this. Thank you.

I like the idea. Buy the slide, and I can always put the origional back on my M&P,,,,I think I could shoot limited with my M&P 9mm, or could also have one to mount on my M&P .40 just for fun. Keep us posted when you're tooled up for the M&P...

Stick, yes.

Production plates will be out August 15th. We have a good number of people on the pre-order list. Once that list gets close to being finished we will open up regular orders. Production slides should be out by the end of the year. Followed by M&P and large frame glocks.

We have added a new plate to production. We will have (Micro, RMR, Deltapoint, MRDS, DR/Fastfire 2, and Iron Sights)

The production plates look great and fit like a dream. 6061-T6 Type 3 Hardcoated to VERY tight tolerances.

I will post the order page when the pre-order list gets close to completion.

Thanks

Trijicon has donated a RMR for this project, I've been playing around with a M&P with a cutout, and I think the milled slide is really the way to go.
