I'm curious to see what type of unusual pistols you guys own. All of my pistol are pretty straight forward and nothing out of the ordinary, well except for one. 30 rounds of pure 9mm fun. Probably the craziest/coolest pistol I'll ever own. It's great when I go to the range everyone stops and asks "What the hell is that thing?"

AN H&K P7 is about as unconventional as I get. Nothing unheard of, but definitely confuses people who have never seen one before.

If we're going for rare, I think the Glock 19 takes the cake... can't get/keep them in stock for anything.

Mine is not so exotic, but it is my favorite. I have a Dan Wesson 15-2VH .357 Magnum Revolver target model (circa 1982 Monson, MA.) with the 6 inch barrel that I think is really cool and extremely accurate. I think it was less than $200 at the time of purchase. It has only had about 2 boxes of ammunition through it in all these years. I would love to be able to afford the longer barrels for it. These were great revolvers in their day. I wouldn't sell it for $2,000!

Was this one of the models that DW built with the shroud that allowed interchangable barrels?. I wish I would have bought one. I think they were popular for a while in the 80's...

FortTom: You are correct, and your desire can be fullfilled. CZ is the owner of the Dan Wesson name these days and they have returned to the revolver market with a Model 715 (stainless steel) and available interchangable barrels. I am waiting to see whether they offer a pistol pack or not. I think the price is around $1,100.00.

I haven't seen anybody else with an STI K100 GP6 - too bad it's in transit from OCONUS, but it's a cute, odd little pistol.

Until three days ago, my only pistol was a Springfield XD .45 ACP with a 5" barrel. Now my arsenal includes one of these.

Note: The photo is not mine, nor is it of mine, but it is the same model.

Very interesting pistol. I imagine having such a low bore axis would make it a really nice shooter. Have you had a chance to shoot it?

I have. I tried it with White Box .38 SPL and .357 MAG and the felt recoil on the .357's was significantly less than what a .38 SPL feels like in most other revolvers. The .38's felt like a .22, and barely even disturbed the sight picture. Accuracy was phenomenal, and out of the box the rounds hit point of aim at 15 yards. After the first 100 rounds went through it I decided to try some more strenuous accuracy testing and using my truck door as a rest struck an 18" x 24" plate 4/6 times at 117 yards lased. With .357's loaded for defensive testing it was just as impressive. Recoil management practically handled itself, and my largest group dumping the cylinder at 15 yards was only 10". The controls aren't quite traditional revolver, feeling more like an automatic pistol in placement, and the grip is something of a hybrid between the two as well. The trigger pull in single action was crisp and light, and the double action pull was rather heavy but smooth, with little take-up. Then again, I'm primarily a plastic autopistol shooter so good stock triggers are a real treat for me and I might be overreacting.

That is really cool. I like the looks of it a lot, very interesting design.

If you're an anime fan you might remember Togusa uses something similar (http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/Ghost_in_the_Shell#Mateba_Revolver) to this in the series Ghost in the Shell. I have been intrigued with this design since I first saw it in the fictional series. I knew it was based on reality but I have never seen or used on in person. I just may have to change that after reading your review! Thanks for the update.

I own a custon .50AE by L.A.R.
The pistol is called the "Grizzly"

Semi Auto, similar to a 1911 but much bigger :)

Lots of bark!

Yeah, the Mateba is by the same designer as the Rhino, but way more complicated and also available in .44 Mag and .454 Casull (Also way more hard to find). It's a revolver that uses recoil operation to re-cock the hammer, pretty much making it function like a DA/SA pistol.
