Oh, nice! Maybe it's time I buy a Gen 4 Glock! All my Glocks are Gen 2 & 3 and they usually give my giant hands slide bite if I'm not shooting with gloves.

I have a name and all that right now, but it's just a name that allowed me to get the ball rolling and it won't be used very long. I called it "Omega Gunworks" for the LLC just so I could get stuff moving. Texas won't allow you to have anything phonetically similar to other companies so I had to go through about 175 names before they FINALLY approved one for my LLC. I'll have a FB page soon. I'm not totally sure if I want to stay with Omega or move to my last name **insert something**. Too many things are "Omega" already but than again I'm extremely private and don't want my last name blasted everywhere. So, for now Omega Gunworks is what I'm "operating as". I have a business model and all that good stuff, some dealer accounts etc. Waiting on the FFL and then I might change the name. Not too sure yet. Texas is apparently really picky on what you can name your business.

A sheet of white Muslin and two bright lights.

I don't even use photoshop. I am just using Pixlr.com/editor to clean areas that aren't completely white (corners, wrinkles, ect.). I like to keep some shadowing.

Here is one of the Glock pics, unedited. I was just using our small coffee table to shoot on.

Control your lighting and the rest will fall into place. I'm still learning everyday.. Can't tell you how many times I've scrapped an entire shoot and regrouped. As everyone says its not the camera but lighting... Never knew how true that was until I started a few months ago

My first handgun. I bought it while i was in college, so it was also my only handgun for a few years. I still have a bunch of 10 round mags for this pistol, since the AWB was in full swing when i bought it.

I still need to get some too.. I used the sights off my 42 when I traded it and put them on the 43.

My trigger feels like it's 4.5 or 5lbs. Heavier than my 19 with 3.5 connector but lighter than stock.

Compared to both of my G-22's and both G-27's mine is way heavier than the claimed 5.5. I figure I will leave it be until I have at least 500 rounds behind it then see where it is.

My G42's trigger was insanely heavy compared to every other Glock i own (all of which have the stock trigger and 5# connector). Even after about 300 rounds, it was still heavy. I finally broke down and bought a ghost 3.5# connector and did some polishing on the trigger bar, etc. It's much improved over the stock set-up and much closer to a 5.5# trigger.

My g43 trigger is light years ahead of our 42s. In fact our 42 pulls over my wheeler trigger gauge of 8# and change...

When I finally got ahold of a 43 that was in stock I was pleasantly surprised. Both are excellent for the intended use though.

Glad to hear your 43 came with good trigger. My calibrated Mk. 1 Trigger Finger was figuring my G42 was right around 9# before the new connector. I'd guess it's about 6# now. Great little gun, and mine runs like a top. I still can't see how Glock can advertise what came with my gun as a 5.5# trigger...

Seriously though what problems are you having?

A lot of times when I take a picture and then send it to myself to post, the rotation information gets "confused" and depending on what you view the picture on, it rotates the image. PB seems to take that rotation info a lot of times, so I need to fix it in their editor. The issue comes that after I fix it, the PB servers don't always register the fix for several hours. PB acknowledges you've made the fix in the thumbnail, but when I post the image here (or elsewhere), it's still the pre-fix image for a while until it populates across their multiple servers.

Now, several hours after posting the image, I see the "fixed" image in the correct 4:3 presentation, but an hour after I originally posted, it was still in the 3:4 aspect ratio.

The Mac issue I have is that a lot of times, it can't fully load a page on PB because Flash is such an abortion on the Mac side and it just hangs up (using Firefox). That's more a Flash issue than a Mac issue, I guess, but Flash has long been a huge resource hog on the Mac and always has caused issues.

Give Flickr a try. I've used both PB and Flickr - and for me, I really do like Flickr a lot more than PB.

I've got a few pics on Flickr and I'm not opposed to it, but one issue is that I can't always get to it from work on a .mil machine which, by law, has to use an internet browser that's at least 3 versions behind the rest of the world.

No I am implying that if they were such perfection there would be no need to melt the frame. Or relieve the trigger guard. Or glue some half assed back strap on them and then try to stipple it smoothly into the frame. For such a perfect gun there sure are a lot of "improvements" on the market.

I was being facetious, obviously there is nothing perfect, ever, especially in the gun market. To even consider a firearm perfect would mean it can be accepted without issue by various persons of various body types and hand sizes without modification, that's impossible.

When modifying guns I like the "modify everything" concept because if you aren't modifying something to work for you specifically, then you are missing out on its full potential.

Same could be said for 1911's and M&Ps...and so forth.

I had a guy at a class give me every reason under the sun why his brand new Wilson Combat 1911 didn't run well and kept having failures, all this after telling me how his gun is way better than my "$500 piece of plastic" glock 17....that ran without a problem.

Without a doubt it can be said for every weapon made.

I think it's insane that people will pay 2k plus for a modified Glock. And then still tell you how an out of the box Glock is the best pistol ever made.

Cool pic. I wouldn't mind having a G43, but can't bring myself to spend the cash on one. Does it have the 10lb. "5.5lb." trigger like the G42?

Normally, i don't mind factory Glock triggers. I kinda like them, in fact. With my Gen 2 and Gen 3 Glocks, i leave them stock and just shoot the piss out of them. But with my G42, i was pretty disappointed with the factory trigger. I shot the crap out of it hoping it would lighten up and smooth out, but finally got sick of the 10# pull. I tore it apart, polished everything up, and installed a Ghost 3.5# connector. It's finally an acceptable trigger. Although i'm still getting used to the rolling break of the 3.5# connector, at least it's not 10 pounds anymore lol.

Please explain what exactly someone can do with the serial number? I hear often how bad it is to post the numbers but not once have I heard a legitimate reason why it's an issue.

I agree Sinner. I try not to intentionally post my #s, but I'm not tore up if it happens on accident.

About the only way I could see it hurting someone was if they'd accidentally bought a stolen firearm, or if they hadn't paid the NFA tax but posted pics of an SBR or similar, and if they posted an action shot where a pistol brace was against one's shoulder and the # was easily visible for tracking down the person.

Honestly I think a lot of guys are paranoid (and rightly so to an extend), but I seriously doubt there are ATF agents out there writing down serial #s from photos to tag people to specific firearms, ie starting a database.

This is about where I am at on the issue. I don't disagree that it's good practice to control shared information but it doesn't tear me up terribly when something gets posted.
I know that not all ATF agents are assholes, I've personally seen two of em let a guy off of what could have been 5+ felony counts for weapons violations in CA because the guy genuinely didn't have a clue the stuff he'd owned since the 80's had been outlawed there.
However, I can just imagine an ATF agent reading your last sentence laughing as he scrolls through this thread writing down serials to run just because we are talking about it.

voodoo_man
12 October 2015, 11:34
I mean, ive seen fbi traces run on serial numbers only without having possession of the firearm.

Just pointing out that if someone in a position of interest wants to make a job out of something someone posted then its one step easier for them to do so.

You wouldnt post your personal info, would you?

Messing with a serial takes .02 seconds in any program.

The thing about that is other than looking cool, the performance gain is fairly minimal.

Barrel, comp, rds, the work to get all that stuff and to make it run correctly for you.

Or i can just shoot the gun as it is with little modification.

I mean, sure try whatever you feel as though may work but use common sense in its implementation.

What exactly are you getting from a setup like that? What additional advantage are you squeezing out that would be negligible if you just train harder and expand your ability?

Do not get me wrong, I think every opportunity to get a tactical advantage is good and should be considered, however, it will never substitute training.
