I love my Aimpoint T-1. I own only one, which is something I’ve wanted to change for a long time; but my wallet (and my wife – love you hun[:D]!) have road blocked my path to multiple T-1s. So, since I only have one, I like to baby it a little bit.

(Love this thing!)
The new iOCover is a rubber jacket for my T-1. This simple but ingenious layer of optic protection is still in the final design stage, but I was fortunate enough to get my hands on one of the black prototypes.

When it arrived and I pulled it out of the box I actually “COL’d”. (Said “Cool” Out Loud – I’m trying to start a new online acronym.) The “coolest” thing about the iOCover is the way the front and rear lens covers stow while your using the optic.

iOCover has a Facebook page already, and they are on a really interesting website which I had never heard of before – Kickstarter.com. At their page located here (http://kck.st/O9B5Yi). You can read all about the development of the iOCover and even invest in its production. I won’t spoil it for you, so visit them and read all about how the design evolved and how they came up with the product’s name. If you choose to invest, depending on your pledge amount, you can have a say in logo design and production colors.

They are promising production units by December 2012. Personally, I’m hoping they make it in pink – or better yet, purple – so I can convince my wife we need another T-1 to display a pretty cover! It was, after all, Magpul’s pink Field Case that convinced her we needed iPhones.

(Please make it in pink or purple -- for my wife!)
