Several months back, I purchased a kydex outside-the-waistband (OWB) holster for my previous Glock 22 .40 S&W duty gun by the company X-Concealment Holsters & Tactical Gear (http://www.x-concealment.com/) out of Orlando, Florida (FL).

That holster, the "M" Series MOD II (http://www.flccw.com/X-Concealment/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=65&products_id=226), is, as explained on the X-Concealment website, a "trimmed up version" of their "M" holster. Both the "M" and "M" MOD II are designed as modular (hence the designation "M") holster, convertible from OWB to in-the-waistband (IWB) use by way of interchangeable IWB soft loops. The differences in the "M" and later "M" MOD II is the latter is 30% smaller and 25% lighter, again according to X-Concealment. Due to this size difference, both holsters have belt loops that are proprietary to that particular holster, i.e., an "M" belt loop are incompatible with the "M" MOD II. Another difference is the "M," with a MOLLE attachment adapter, can be mounted to PALS webbing. There is no MOLLE option for the "M" MOD II. Incidentally, the "M" MOD II is also available in a light-compatible version (http://www.flccw.com/X-Concealment/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=65&products_id=227).

Features of the "M" MOD II which makes for an excellent product include curving of the body and "wings" which makes this holster very comfortable even after ten to 12 hour long work days as well as helping, in my opinion, with concealment; superb fit and finish, and a sweat shield also helping with comfort. I cannot understate the fact X-Concealment's fit and finish on this holster is first rate. It is notable when observing the "exposed" edges of the kydex which are smooth and well buffed. I have some other maker's holsters which are no where near as well finished. Bravo X-Concealment.

As I stated, above, this holster was purchased when I still carried a Glock 22. I no longer have that gun as my agency will soon issue the Glock 23 Generation 4 .40 S&W pistol. As I had already turned in my issued Glock 22, the posted photographs include my personally-owned, agency approved Glock 27 .40 S&W. I can report this holster excellently conceals its intended gun, the Glock 17/22 under a slightly oversized polo shirt which is what I usually wear here in South FL. My Glock 27 carried in the "M" MOD II hides even better, courtesy of the smaller Glock's shortened grip. Printing with either gun is minimized thanks to the curvature of the holster's body.

"Working" out of this holster on the range is a simple affair. Draws and reholstering are smooth. Re-inserting the gun lends to a loudish "click" due to the rigidity and fit of the holster. While slightly tight, which provides excellent retention of the gun, drawing and reholstering the gun is not difficult.

In wrapping this review, I give the "M" MOD II high marks for concealability, fit, finish, and adaptability. All-in-all, it's an excellent choice in a market increasingly dominated by custom kydex holsters.
