I really hope so. I intend to snag the XM177 retro if it's not too overpriced, as well. I think Colt will sell a ton of those stocks if they offer them.

According to drawings, the narrow section of a keymod slot is only .042" narrower than an mlok slot.

Mine used to be that shade/color. Now after a bunch of lube, carbon, and heat....they've turned into a shiny graphite with randomized patterns from the afore mentioned factors.

Open carry of a long gun isn't prohibited here, and if there's any urban area where it's appropriate to carry a modern semi auto, it's in Detroit's decaying industrial sector. I can't imagine any LEO there complaining about that beyond their own discomfort at approaching a visibly armed person.

Yeah know, it isn't here either. Went to a parade yesterday where anyone could join, seriously you just step into the parade and there you go. Had a lone individual carry a flag with a rainbow and crown, pronouncing himself queen. Hey, whatever, but it occurred to me it might have been fun to put my spin on it and jump in the parade with a slung AR.

The upper is a Vltor VIS, the barrel is an 18" SS model from Faxon Firearms, the gasblock is from Fortis Manufacturing. The lower receiver and BCG are from Bravo Company USA, and the optic is the Trijicon, Inc. TARS.

Pretty slick setup, and not bad for a bunch of early teens.

At first I thought about abandoning the project and just selling the lower. However, I had forgotten about it for awhile after Eric Anderson left AXTS. By the time I chased down the lower again, I gave Josh the Green light and he finished it up. I'm pretty pleased with how it came out.

The badger ambi charging handle, illum/parallax knob on the ATACR, and left leg of the bipod cause the rifle to sit off the surface.

It's always lonely, despite getting shot at least once a week. :)

I really want to like a low power variable scope. But don't have a ton of money. The Bushnell was OK. The PA was OK. Figured I'd try a Vortex.

I don't know about anyone else but I would like to hear first hand (thread or whatever) about just how big of a pain in the ass it is to make an 80% lower into a functioning AR. The idea interests me but being honest I have 3 or 4 projects in the works already right now so I wouldn't do one myself for a while. Later on though it might be something to consider doing. Then again I have a lot of stuff I would like to learn as well... I will just add this to the list.

Yep, I need to pick up at minimum a MLOK offset.
I do think I am going to do some type of rail cover more than the finger stop though. I lightly burned my hand on my last outing with my other rifle. The MLOK holes are big enough I touched the gas block on accident while gripping the rail.

You're right, it was a typo, it's a 4.5" barrel with an AAC Element 2 Suppressor.

I built this because I had a buddy with a 4.5" .22lr AR upper, but he didn't use a can. His gun is about as much fun as you can have with a 22lr. I'd say at 50, it was accurate as say hitting man sized steel targets all day long. However, not sure about the effective range as I don't shoot varmit.

Joelski how do you like the Trijicon Accupower?
I like it really well. The glass is super nice, the reticle is crisp but not overly busy and the BDC works for my style. It's also pretty light compared to a comparable viper.
