Risers are the new hotness. Cloning is often cited for reasons for doing it, but running NODs or just getting your shooting position a little more vertical is the intent.

I kind of chuckle about it now. At one point, I ran my Elcan on a 1/2" riser before it was cool to do on Facebook. There's even a few pics of it here on the site. I was mocked for it by a buddy of mine (who is a very good shooter and actually very open-minded about performance enhancement). Fast-forward 6 months and everyone is running risers or 1.93" mounts...and finally KAC comes out with their Skyscraper mount (which after only shouldering but not shooting it, I thought was very nice).

It's a LaRue riser. Like Gator said, more heads up shooting for NODs and and less strain on your neck as oppose to the tactical turtle position.
The pad is for Colt fiberite stocks to make it a little more comfortable on the shoulder.

No, I like it on my SPRish 5.56. I would just like a little more reach with the .308. The Accupoint 2.5-12.5x40 looks sweet.

I think I’m going to go the opposite direction, and go with a 1–4 or 1–6 for my 308 and make it more like a scout rifle that I can still hit 3-400 yards with in a pinch. Trying to keep it as light as possible

I resurrected this one after cannibalizing parts for the Radian lower. Now it has no upper to mate with. I'm kind of thinking 6.8 SPC for this one as I have an 18" SPC planned, the KAC lower that is slowly coming together is getting a URX 3.1 railed 14.5" upper.

If you find the PDW stocks comfortable and if you need to shave some length to fit it in a certain bag, I see an advantage. The disadvantage is as Duffy has pointed out, it is not a forward development in operation. Plus, the stock is not comfortable to some.

I have a BAD Vert version. It’s a slick design and looks awesome on a shorty. It’s the shortest of its kind as far as I can find. But I’m considering selling it because I don’t use it and find I prefer normal stocks now on my SBRs. If I need to shave length for bags, the law folder works even better for that.

As part of my New Year Resolution to get rid of some too-similar ARs, I’ve slimmed down to these two 14.5s. Both BCM LW - 7lb2oz and 7-13 as shown. You can figure which is which. I found by switching from Troy to Mbus I could mount the TA110 one slot further back. At first I thought the canted Mbus w/ a red dot was ridiculous. But as the Scalarworks mount is more a tool free than a true QD, I may just leave it as is. I still need to re-mount the Arisaka light if I can get the fitment right with the CMR limited holes.

Agree. The PDW's aren't going to be comfortable for some. I actually like the CMT/BAD stock. If it wasn't for the cost, I'd probably get another.

On a more serious note, a buddy that I would shoot with all the time before he separated and moved had a BCM version of a MOD 0. It shot lights out and he pimped it out by painting it and turning it into a pretty close Lone Survivor clone (until he realized how much nicer optics choices are that are out there). But it was heavier than the MOD 1 (if that matters) and I just liked the look of my MOD 1 better. But that's the beauty of this hobby, right? Build it your way!

I thought Centurion's MK12's were build from Centurion's CHF barrels, which are shooters of course, and then moved briefly to Douglas barrels and then back to Centurion barrels. I could be wrong. I know Stick's Mk12 Mod 1 upper shoots lights out.

You and Stick would certainly have more inside info than I. I thought, at the time I bought my MK12 upper, my barrel was a 416 barrel. After looking through his website, it looks like they're still stainless. Even so, my 12.5" CHF C-barrel is pretty spectacular, so I figure you can't lose.

I didn't realize he was selling complete rifles now. I'm sure retirement has made that process a little easier to manage. When I bought mine, it was uppers-only. I don't "need" one, but a CA lower would be cool to have to match the upper.

I’ve gotten a great hunting load worked up with it with 62gr Barnes TTSX and still punching tiny holes with 77gr Tipped Match Kings. I love how much lighter this version is than the previous (8oz). I’m trying to figure out which upcoming weekend is my range day and I want to do some more with it.

Other than the optic, Never cared for the Johnny Rifle... even the OG.

I was an early adopter of 300 BLK. Shot the fuck out my 762SDN-6 with 300 Subs. Punching paper with it, the cost benefit isn't there for me. I still have a few cases of 300 Subs, but I now only break it out for special occasions.

I don’t shoot it regularly either. May do more as I get into reloading. I think the round has its place for HD use and varminting quietly around my property.

.223 was about .50-.60/rnd when I got into it in 1984. Expense is relative. Life is short. That strangled "pew" makes me laugh like child. Worth every penny! I buy cases on sale. While people are raving about $169 for M-855 (got some of those too), I was finding .36/rnd on .300 BLK.

Grab some converted UZI mags for that thing. Those Colt mags absolutely suck to load if they are in fact the real Colt mags and not the Colt branded C Products mags made for Colt.

I believe these are Colt mags, 2 are still wrapped in that old paper with oil seeping through. The 32rd mags I haven't had an issue with, haven't tried the 20's. I'll look up the UZI mags, thanks!

VSeven 14.5". I shot a group with IMI 77gr that was technically just inside a MOA, but 3 of the 5 holes were stacked on top of one another. I'm pretty sure the shooter is holding the barrel back and not the other way around.

Still trying to see what 55gr factory ammo it likes. So far IMI has done well, but want to test some XTAC out tomorrow.

Ever wonder why they never did a nicer bolt catch? I get why you did the G unit part, it just seems that for as much attention as KAC put into the trigger guard for example, you'd think they'd do something similar with the bolt catch.
