I'm waiting on my lower to come in so that I can send my form 1 off. At this time this is what I'm thinking about putting together.

Noveske Gen3 lower(on its way)
Mega MKM mid length
Noveske 10.2" 300
Undecided about the rest


Where did you find a Gen3 Lower? Complete?

I know they aren't selling them stripped.

Probably from that mess of that last run of gen 2's that had some problems, from what i here, as i think it was ar15.com that had a thread that people were getting gen 3's for replacements of those gen 2's

It had extra material around one of the pivot pin holes that made it not compatible with my Vltor upper, there was also an area that neither got Cerakoted nor anodized. They were extremely nice and offered me a gen 3 since they were out of gen 2. They also offered me a chance to have a gen 3 upper matched to the lower, but the upper cost more than I wanted. I have no complaints with them.

Lots of cool stuff here guys,thanks for posting. This is the second build I have done, I was going for something simple and it came out pretty much as I was hoping. I was finishing it up a couple weeks ago when I got distracted with another project so I haven't moved on it much... All that remains is to decide on a scope for it an I'll consider it complete. Anyway, here goes. I will say that this is my first attempt at taking and posting pics in that I did not use an Ipad so I hope you guys enjoy.

I noticed you had what appeared to be a front flip up sight, so it initially threw me for a loop as you never seen carry handles without a FSB.

As they say, the carry handle is one of the best rear sights out there.

Sad part is; it's enough to shy me off of ordering from them again... However irrational that may be. They tried to correct the situation to the best of their ability, and I understand it. I was just really excited about it, have been talking about it since I placed the order. Phone call was just such a huge buzzkill. Still glad I got the non anodized from them, but not sure if any of their other holdings really interests me.

I really like the looks of the unfinished suppressor. Very Nice, and I bet it cost you very little compared to a retail can.

Your gun takes me back a few years. I remember when I had a Tactical Innovations Lower. I thought they were pretty nice at the time, with clean lines. I can't help but think they would have done much better and been a lot bigger if their marketing was better at the time. One of these days I might get another lower.

Nah, short is I shot about 120-150 blank rounds through the gun and since its an 11.5" barrel the pressure was so great it mangled the bfa.

Making it very hard for me not to pull the trigger on the 1-4 Viper PST for my 18" rifle. I'm on the fence about what I want. Part of me says 3-9x and the other part says i want this scope.

The 1-4x Viper PST is just a good value for the money. I looked at it this way. If I got the 1-4, I could use it on multiple platforms if I needed to. the 3-9x limits me. Or just do what you planned on all along, get both.

Leupy VX6 2-12, 18" Ranier Match, URXIII . Upper a safe queen for a couple years. Finished and boresighted today.

^^...Should be a good shooter, my 18" RA match barrel has proved to shoot under a moa out to 200 yards (longest i have been able to shoot it on paper)..so far using 69gr SMK's and varget. Have some 77gr noslers and TAC and varget to play with.

I like the NiB... in fact I should probably update that long-term NiB gun thread. Personally, the above job sucked. It was some local guy that claimed he knew how to do NiB. I don't know if that's really the case though. If you were going to go NiB, I would use WMD Guns.

I got the Mega Cerakoted in Foliage Green. I'll take better pics tomorrow. Just got it assembled today and snapped some quick shots in the garage. I also added a POF bolt release and Battle Arms Take Down Pins. The installation of the front take down pin with their magnets system made it SUPER easy to install. No more launching detents to the far corners of hell.

Oh crap! I thought I put it here. It was pretty cool how I gave it to him. A few days after he got back from Korea I asked him to meet me at the rifle range I frequent. I had both my Mega and his CMT set up and the wife was shooting the CMT when he showed up. I got him behind the gun at 200 yards and let him drill it a few times. He started going on about how much he liked the gun and how much he missed his collection and how he wanted to buy an AR. I told him not to worry, I built this for him. I got the deer in the headlights look from him with his jaw kind of slacked open. He muttered the word "really?!?!" and by then the wife was crying, which got him crying...and since i'm such a stone cold bad ass I would never let a tear drop fall from my face while giving my best friend something from the heart. LOL.

After it sunk in and hugs and stuff were passed the dude all lovingly picked it up and mulled it over for about 10 minutes and then started crying again. Remaining hardcore as I am I proceeded to stand there and do the opposite. LOL. It was really cool. One of the best experiences of my life. He's leaving for Korea this Friday and he went with me to get my Mega coated (I'm having some health issues and can't drive so he drove me to SA) and he really digged what I got. He's spent the last week browsing the Cerakote website looking at colors he wanted it coated in, but money is so tight with him he can't afford to get it done. Since his birthday will pass while he's in Korea and he leaves the gun with me I'm going to take it to SA and have it coated in the dark green he's been looking at.

New upper came in today! With the 14.5" enhanced light weight - fluted upper with KMR, the whole rifle is about a pound lighter than it was earlier today when equipped with the same stuff. It feels even lighter than that thanks to the ELW-F profiled barrel that tapers.

As soon as I saw the replies, I wondered why I even bothered posting it there. I get that keymod isn't everyone's cup of tea, but the implications of the other part of the comment that somehow BCM is shoving keymod kool-aid down everyone's throat are just fucking stupid. It's like most people on MDS don't bother to keep up with industry news / developments and don't realize that keymod was put out as an open standard by Vltor and that BCM is relatively late to the party with their rail. They also let their aesthetic dislike of the rail somehow discount the fact that it's retarded light, especially when combined with the tapered ELW style barrels.

I got a chance to shoot KMR and Gunfighter Comp Mod 1 equipped guns this past weekend, and it was a pleasant experience both on the weight front (even if they had standard barrels) and the GF-Comp seemed even nicer than a battlecomp I owned previosly. With the ELW-F barrel things should be even nicer.

Couldn't resist BCM's BCG and Gunfighter Comp deal so I picked myself up a new KMR ELW upper. The upper is very light and the amount of leverage I can get on it amazing. It points quickly. The second image shows an older receiver and the new receivers. The new one has crisper T numbers and the edges seem to be cut differently. I'm just waiting for Primary Arms to get their 1-6x ACSS optic back in stock.

This was another one of those maryland things where you took what you could get. A group buy on MD forum. I was told it was an LRB upper but it very well could be something else. All I know is that I paid about $200 for the receiver set and a WMD NiB BCG when they first came out. And they promptly went to coating.

In maryland things get twice as expensive when you order them online because the shops (or at least my local shops) charge ridiculous transfer fees. Like 50 bucks or more plus the fees to file the paperwork with the state police. Example: when I originally got my Seekins SP223 lower I was told it would be over $300 from the two stores I asked to transfer it for me, then a few weeks later, one of those two shops ordered 10 of them to sell, and I only paid $260 for it, which is about retail, but it included the transfer, sales tax and fees. It's a shame our legislation has made it this way, but the shops have to charge this much just to keep themselves afloat.

Edit: looked on LRB site. They do offer forged uppers.

My KMR jones is sated. Now to get to the range to fine tune the shorties.

Obnoxious baby is cut down rail (Thanks to Dave @ Atomic Tactical.) with VooDoo Ultralight 7.5" barrel and KX5. Atomic Tactical lower and BCM pistol tube. PA MD-06 red dot. LWRC sights. Armageddon CH. Just a fun gun.

Middle is 11.5" BCM LW upper, Mega Gator lower with KAK pistol tube. Unity Tactical VFG and 3x Acog, Troy backups. Ambi Gunfighter CH.

Carbine is 14.5" BCM ELF-F upper, BCM lower, Ambi GF CH, UT VFG, 1.5x Acog on Bobro mount, Magpul Pro rear and front integral sight/light by Rosch Works.

Background is where new teen driver drove his rusty Prism onto my new deck and bounced into the garage/sunroom, caving in a wall.

How is that cut down KMR? Any issues with the integrity of the rail? Did your smith cover the bare metal with something?

I don' t think integrity will be an issue . The top rail and 3,6, and 9 o'clock keyholes are intact. The edges of the open keyholes dangle 1/2" at 1, 5, 7 and 11. I suppose they could bend into the KX5 if smacked hard against a rock, but I can live with that risk. The cut edge is coated with some sort of blacking. I have a bottle of Birchwood Casey Aluminum Black to touch up as needed.

It's so tiny I chuckle every time I pick it up. But my 10.5 and 11.5 are more natural to hold with the longer reach. For range fun or in the cab of my truck in troubled times it fits the bill. For any other situation I have better tools.

I'd really like to try out a 1-6 PA myself. For that price, you can afford to try it out even if it ultimately doesn't end up working for you. If it's like PA's other offerings, I expect at the very least for the optic to be "decent" not great glass, but still great value overall for the money.

Gonna run the SPARC for now going to see how it holds up in 2 Gun.. longest shot at local competitions is 100yds. I think I will keep the black helps make the grip not look out of place haha

Yep our club and a few neighboring clubs has started doing them they call them "Fun Shoots" but we follow the same rules of ACTS. So far the groups have been getting bigger with each event that has been held. Our club started with like 3 people showing up now we are up to 15+ showing up. There is talk about rotating hosting events between the 3 clubs in the area to make the events bigger. Right now it is for fun everyone pays $3 to help cover range maintenance. We have 3 stage setups now 1 rifle, 1 pistol and 1 transitioning course.

Thanks. I always have a hard time trying to "hide" the watermark, so most of the time I just give up and put it in the corner. When I saw the T-marks, I knew I had to put it there.
