View Full Version : The Walking Dead - Pure Nonsense or Pure Awesomeness

Is anyone else addicted to the Walking Dead? Don't get me wrong, I am not into how just about every industry has gotten on the zombie apocalypse bandwagon, but the show is completely addicting. Besides my wife and my mother, I haven't really run into many people that don't like the show.

I've watched it since the beginning. It got pretty boring for one season (season 2?) but it picked back up. I like the drama, but I think they go over the top on the zombie death scenes a little bit. I don't watch much TV so I do get excited for a new episode of TWD every week :-)

I think the show had a lot of promise, but they have played drama queen with characters too much. Aside from the first episodes, the first season was like a soap opera...

I think the characters on The Walking Dead could use lessons from the characters on the A Team. Funny how they can make head shots on walkers at any distance and while on the move, but as soon as it is a live person, they can't hit anything at all. The prison shootout against the village was pathetic. There is no reason for it to be that bad, bring in new characters and have them killed off, but how can everyone on Ricks team miss that much.

The Walking Dead is a great show, solid acting, great story line, and endless possibilities on storylines. One of the few shows I look forward to watching with any anticipation. I hope it gets picked up for a full seasons worth of episodes 24 vs 16.

Another fan here. We ditched satellite and went to Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon instant...much cheaper and no (or very few) commercials. The Walking Dead is one of the few show's we'll pay for on Amazon.

I'm a fan. While I read the comic, and continue to do so, I look at the show as a different adventure - it would be boring if it happened exactly the same scene by scene. There are plenty of things that could be better about the show, it's still pretty entertaining. If I wasn't watching the Walking Dead, I'm sure I would be watching something far worse - or just Archer and Always Sunny reruns again.

I love the show, look forward to it every Sunday. I do agree that marksmanship against the living is horrible, and the nuthin' but headshots on the walkers is unbelievable, but I still find it all entertaining.

After attending the Emerald city comicon, seeing 2 of the stars, and a fan of the original comic series, yeah I am a fan. I would like to assist the consultants on the set with weapon choices, Rick has to get rid of the revolver and go with somethig a bit faster.

5 March 2013, 08:57
Oh, I've been a fan, so is my son. I could do with a bit less drama, but I get that it's there to expand the "fan base". It's prompted many an interesting discussion with "what ifs" here in rent-a-cop HQ.

I'm with ya'll on the live v. zombie and headshots, that prison firefight was annoying as hell. I haven't fussed directly at the TV like that in ages.

tac~ somebody needs to consult with them, where in the hell are they getting the import restricted FA stuff? I'd swear Rick has a tungsten barrel on that revolver with his modified East St Louis grip on it....How the hell does he even see the rear sight??

Just look at the Crack Stormtroopers in Star Wars..... Heaven forbid you are just an average dude! You're toast! But a main character is wrapped in mediclorians (SP?) and laser proof teflon.

Another reason to like SKD

Sunday's episode "Clear" was a cool change of pace, bringing it back around to the first season.

I especially like the cdc episode. How they just walked past all those weapons and didnt load up...ill never understand.

They need to finish the current plot.

never seen people in need of weapons so bad leave an entire arsenal sitting in a room. I would've left the guy with a few and taken all the rest of the guns n ammo leaving only enough for 1 isolated lunatic man.

I am a fan of the show....but I love zombie shows in general. Looking forward to "World War Z" to come out...but hoping as well that Brad Pitt and crew do it justice as the book was great.

Watch walking dead, game of thrones. I miss breaking bad! Anybody else watch true detective?

Also, those who haven't seen the wire (old news) needs to get on amazon instant and get that along with all the other hbo shows. Loved the wire especially growing up around Baltimore.

It was on HBO. It was only 8 episodes, and it is an anthology, so next season will be different characters and a different story. I hope it will be as good as the first season.
You can probably find it on demand, HBOGO, or some unrecommended shady corner of the internet. It's on my "to purchase" list when the DVD set comes out.

Ah that explains it. No HBO for me. American Horror Story is the same setup as far as new story and characters per season (FX network). I enjoyed the first two, the third bored me an I didn't finish it.

New season starts in a week and a half! I'm hoping this season is a little less of a soap opera like most of last season. The Season 5 trailer shows quite a bit of good stuff but I'm worried that the only action in the whole season is what is shown in the trailer.

Grown adults with rifles can't hit the broad side of a barn, but two young girls with handguns can make headshots from 20+ yards with ease...

I see no problem here ;)

Followed this show since it started. I'm a neerd who had read the comics before the show was announced. It dropped off a bit and had a hard time holding my attention.

Not a big Daryl fan, rick the best. Was upset he was such a wus for so long... Then the season finale he became the character he is in the comics.
Psyched for the new season in a week. Sucks they cut some violence out because parents complained " my children watch this not so much violence"... It's an adult show people...

Just finished last season so I'm an episode being on this season but I have chrome cast and couchtuner.com so I'll get caught up this week. Honestly dying and coming back is nonsense but it's a good show. If something like this ever could be a reality it would be like the movie the crazies where something polluted people and brought out there inner anger and animalistic features not death and rebirth

I have to go with nonsense.... not knocking the show but several issues with the walkers.... too slow for one would have never possed a credible threat to allow a true outbreak of that magnitude..... secondly there would be flies and maggots galore that within a short period of time would take care of the problem... need some faster more aggressive zombies to be realistic epidemic
