After messing around for months and months with Kydex I finally have a design I like. This will be put on a HSGI mini drop leg panel. I will wear it about mid/low hip (about same height as my front pocket). It has a slight cant to it so moving the holster to OWB is easy but not enough cant to make drawing from the drop leg an issue. I have been running around without a mag carrier so I decided to fix that as well. Waiting on mounting hardware to get here from diyholsters.com and the mini drop leg panel as well.

Finally got all the mounting hardware in for the holster and the mini drop leg panel. Assembled it all and tested fit and function. Ran up and down the stairs to make sure the weapon didn't wiggle around on the drop leg panel. Feels pretty solid to me. With the slight cant the setup forces the trigger finger to index at the top of the slide so no mishaps when drawing.

Will get it out to the range and run it through some stages to see if I want to change anything. Been working on this setup for a very long time. Lets hope it pays off.

How did you attach the holster to the leg rig, MOLLE? Any concerns about retention on a drop leg?

This setup has MALICE loops (pull tab) attached. Going to try out the new M-LOK system. This is my competition rig so for retention just made it a little tighter than what I would use on a OWB setup. If I was to set one up for a LEO I would configure it with a thumb break snap as well as the tighter retention just to be safe.

Very nice looking rig. One question - I'm a little curious as to why you cut more off the ejection port side.

Once I decided not to do a full taco style holster it was just a matter of where I wanted the lines at. And actually the angle helps for reholstering the weapon, with the angle the weapon naturally opens the holster back up from the pinched close position. I felt if anything above the ejection port would hinder the weapon from opening the holster back up for reholster. Also anything covering the ejection port you might as well just do a regular taco style holster. Anything cut below the slide I might as well just order a Xfer holster from Armordillo Concealment. I have to give a lot of the credit to Armordillo Concealment, Thinkfast Holsters, and Red Eye Tactical for helping me along my kydex adventure. Those guys have answered so many questions about holster making for me that it isn't funny.

For me personally I don't like the feel of a full taco holster for IWB carry and would much rather just carry a nice pancake OWB and just wear a bigger shirt. I do however like the bare bones minimalist feel of a trigger guard only style holster. I feel like this is a good in between design. I didn't come up with the design I just added my own lines to it. Everyone that I have seen with this style holster usually come up about halfway on the slide. I felt coming up further on the slide to let the kydex wrap around the top of the slide gives the weapon a snug hold into the holster but that is just me thinking for the weapon haha.

Now that you have asked that question I see the line you are probably thinking about. I will make another one tonight make the cut behind the infinity symbol and go down to the line between the slide and frame, bring it up just past the slide takedown locks and make the angle to the softloop. I will post it up later tonight. Thanks Jerry for the idea :)

Just picked up a Raven in grey (exclusive to Deliberate Dynamics) for a G19 with X300U. Love the holster - its my 3rd Raven, and I really hope they start offering grey as a regular option. I say that because I have a few of the no longer in production X300's (170 lumen). The holster is only available currently for the Ultra. It's backwards compatible, but the holster is now as far below my belt as my G21 with X300.

The light in the picture is the new tan X300U.

All credit goes to Akersc & Computalotapus for making these. If you need a holster talk to them, these are the best kydex holsters I've owned bar none, and I've had several from bravo and raven concealment. Perfection. That's all I can say :D

Man I like some nice leather holsters as well. I have a Jason Winnie holster for the M&P and the wife has one for her Shield. When you gotta dress up nice shirt, pants and sports blazer the leather is the go to. Would love to try out some Alessi (http://www.alessigunholsters.com/) leather eventually.

And thank all of you guys for posting pics of the holsters and the kind words.

Love at first draw. My first Comp holsters - G17 and PPS. Great retention, tuck-in and much easier to get at than the IWB I've been using. Not to mention more comfy. Big bonus that the CZ 75 PCR compact is exactly the same OAL to the beavertail tip as the Glock and works 98% as well. Slightly less retention, but still have to shake upside down to pop out. Thanks brother. I'll be back.

I'm carrying my M&P 40 in a foliage green Infinity holster. Absolutely love it! Getting one for my G19 soon, and when he gets the mold for the M&P .45 I'll get one for that too. I kind of like the idea of having the same holster for several guns, so they are all familiar to me.

A question for you Computalotapus; Can you do Kydex holsters in a similar design as these (http://www.epsaddlery.com/pc-73-20-88-street-combat-holster.aspx) or do you have to put "belt loops" on them? I've got a El Paso Saddlery Street Combat for my G23 and love the way it stays tucked in close. Was just wondering if Kydex could be done the same way. Thanks!

So far it is frustrating. Was all set but now the current owners of the house can't be out till the 28th due to TMO being unavailable. We gotta be in MO by no later than the 16th. As soon I get setup I will text ya and we can work out details. If I am correct you are working somewhere that requires a firearm? We can do some level 2 retention if you want, I have done a few of them for several local sheriff deputies. We can also discuss the mounting hardware (been using a lot of BladeTech and G-Code mounting hardware lately), if you are wearing a vest or any type of kit you might want to get some space between your body and the pistol to make it an easier draw. Like I said I will text/call and we can work out details.

Also I will have access to a laser engraver might be moving the logo from a pressed logo to an engraved logo for better detail and actually get to use my real logo.

Thought I'd update this. My great uncle was a WWII Marine, dropped out of high school and joined the Marines at 17, was wounded in Okinawa, came home, re-enrolled in HS and finished his senior year with my grand dad (his younger brother) co captaining the football team together. When he passed, someone else snatched up the M1 Garand he still kept loaded with .30-06 black tip, but my dad did get this:

I like the Pearce ones as they're a bit smaller, but I'm sure those Taran ones work fine as well.

I'm still surprised it took Glock so long to come out with the 43. It's the perfect carry gun IMO, especially with the TLR-6.

I've used Pearce over the years, definitely never had an issue, but I figured if I was going to go with an extension, I might as well get 2 more rounds vs 1.

I really like the G43 as well. The TLR-6 just puts it over the top. It's about the same size as my Kahr, but obviously the stock Glock trigger is much much better than the crappy Kahr Trigger.

What did you end up getting?

Mike is a good dude and easy to work with. I got a pretty awesome deal on my first two, so I had to get a third. The holster material is easy on your skin, makes a very comfortable EDC.

Beautiful holster, Jerry. Although I haven't used a nice leather holster in a few years, I still think of many as more of a piece of art than a tool.[adore]

Got this made by Scott at 3i Holsters, as I wanted an IWB with accommodation for the SF XC1. His holsters come with a channel for suppressor height sights, and all the retention is on the gun, so it can be used with, or without the light attached. Shown with their CAT TQ holster.
