I was going through a box of old Army memories the other day and came across this spent bullet that I had picked up off the ground near the DMZ while I was stationed in Korea back in 1999-2000. I photographed it next to a .50 cal round for size comparison. The round is 0.43" in diameter at its widest part and 1.84" long from base to tip. I have no idea what the country of manufacture is or what type of weapon it would be used in. Any insight would be appreciated.

Maybe it's some type of 11mm? Please update when you find out.

Penetrator core from a .50 AP projectile?

That seems to be the closest thing I have found so far...would make sense too. Thanks.

It does look like a penetrator core..to what I don't know, but that would be my guess from seeing other similar shaped cores.
