Hi all,

I've been thinking about starting a 1911 build, not to save money but just as a long term project.

I'm wondering where to start looking for a frame. I've looked at Fusion Firearms for basic frames and slides, but I haven't found any other places that offer basic slides and frames.

Has anybody used Fusion's parts before? Can you guys reccomend any other manufacturers to look at, or let me know of any places to stay away from?

thanks!

Caspian (http://www.caspianarmsltd.com/) and Wilson (http://shopwilsoncombat.com/1911-Accessories/departments/13/) are companies you should look at. KKM is another source for 1911 barrels.

I highly recommend starting with a Caspian frame and slide. You probably want to have them fitted by Caspian (rather than do it yourself) for your first 1911 build.
