Building a lightweight AR-15 for the wife. I have a Magpul MOE adjustable stock. My wife is 5'0". Very small framed woman. The problem she has with the magpul is when trying to get the buttstock down into the shoulder it's to long for her. Bringing it down into the proper position is uncomfortable to her as the end is very far down her rib cage. Does anyone have any suggestions on some smaller framed butt stocks with a very short butt pad length?

Find a plain jane CAR stock. Very underrated.

Bravo Company has some in stock. Quick question. I can get a complete kit with tube buffer and spring. I was planning on researching a bit on the buffer weight. I have a Geissele S3G trigger coming with her BAD ASS selector. Should I upgrade to a H2 buffer?

No need to swap out buffers unless there is an issue. I'm assuming this is a 14.5-16" barrel?

With the S3G trigger and BAD-ASS, sounds like it's shaping up to be a nice rig.

And...that's why a CAR stock is a winner.

14.5" DD Light barrel. I pick up the UCWRG upper/lower receiver set Monday. We are piecing it together part by part. I am pretty sure I will be asking more questions as I get to each part.

We are stuck on either the fortis rev 14" rail or the new phase 5 tactical 13.5" rail. Waiting on the weight specs. Also stuck on the BCM brake or the phase 5 brake. I have questions on the BCG but I will research it more before the time comes to purchase

Just be aware that there are some crappy aftermarket CAR stocks floating around out there. If possible, find one of the older Colt ones (N marked under the adjustment latch). I haven't seen the Bravo Co one, but I'm willing to bet it's a decent one as well. For buffers, a standard H buffer.

I ordered an N marked CAR stock from Dennis Todd (DToddMG@aol.com). Unfortunately he only has battle used ones. Specialized Armament has new stocks but they're expensive.

Stripped receiver set came in today (I can't take pictures anywhere near as good as 99% of you guys). Ordered a CAR stock and a Magpul CTR. We will see which one she likes the most. The spare will give me a reason to build a 6.5 Grendel. :)

I believe the B5 Bravo has a shorter buttpad than a CTR, I may not be right. Them Umbrella receivers are nice.

I know Rob. Trust me that picture is what got me started on building a lightweight. It's her rifle. She picked the receivers. She picked most of the stuff out. She wants to see and feel both. She ditched the Umbrella grip for a Hogue grip. So I have a grip to practice stripple'n with. I will keep you guys up to date on the build process.

Any updates? I've enjoyed your progress.

Both stocks have been ordered. Gonna put my upper on so she can get a feel to see which one she likes. I might start a separate post to show build progress but unfortunately it won't be a fast build.
