Gorgeous pics. Puts the crappy pics I have of my Noveske components to shame. I really need to take the time and do some good photos of my rifles.

There you go Sir,

I swear I find a new background everyday on this forum. Not only are the builds amazing, but the photography used to capture the builds is equally impressive! This may sound hoake but what most new-one-and-done members don't get is that the forum is the real prize, the giveaway's are just a bonus. Flame me if you want, but I'm constantly impressed around here [:D]

I have a Noveske question. I have seen bits and clips of verbiage of Noveske once upon a time making 7.62 uppers and lowers, is this true or am I chasing a unicorn? If true then where can I find a set at? Tia.

Anyone have photos of a thunder ranch 14.5 factory rifle? Their website photos don't match their posted specs..

Edit:

Obviously this joint project between Noveske & Clint Smith had many rolling iterations over the years. I'm trying to build a clone but was getting confused about which parts to use.

2011 Stickman photo had a Gen 2 Lower, Vltor MUR-1S upper, and a troy rail.

Current Noveske Website shows a Gen 2 Lower, Vltor MUR1s and a NSR 11, but specs say Gen 3 receiver.

And to further muddle it wide open armory (http://www.shopwideopenarmory.com/products/noveske-gen-iii-5-56-nato-14-5-silencerco-trifecta-flash-hider-rifle-thunder-ranch-special-edition) is selling a Gen 3 TR marked upper and g3 lower with 11" nsr.

[bash] After using a 14.5 skinny chf barrel..Mix and match to my hearts content? [BD]

The Thunder Ranch rifle on Rainier Arms website is also the Gen 3 with TR marked upper (minus forward assist), and 11" NSR. I say grab a 14.5" skinny barrel, and build the version you like best. Although, getting your hands on a gen 3 upper minus the forward assist might be a bit tough lol.

Was planning of using my gen 2 lower with my std. Mur-1s, our 13.5 NSR (no 11 unfortunately) & the 14.5" skinny chf noveske barrel I just picked up.

Obviously it will be a TR "themed build" and not real but I'd still like to stay fairly close to the original layout if possible.

What would be the correct FH for a build like this? Having a hard time on this one as it will need to be pin/weld and I plan on adding a can to the rotation sooner then later and don't want to mess around removing a welded device. Thanks yall

Looks like the AAC Blackout non-mount is what's on the factory gun.

I did a similar build a couple of years ago, although i never really intended it to be a TR clone or anything. I used a Chainsaw Gen 2 lower, standards Noveske marked forged upper, 14.5" skinny barrel, 13.5" NSR, and pinned a BattleComp 1.5 to it. It's one of my favorite builds.

Same here. It looks like you would be hard pressed to have the front and rear sights lined up, and be centered on the optic. Photo available with the rear BUIS up, to show relation to optic?

velocity2006
20 December 2015, 09:09
Alright, well never really paid attention, but it does sit lower than normal co-withness, I guess you could call it an upper 1/3 co-witness lol. Never really noticed as I always shoot non-magnified optics with both eyes open and generally can kind of drown out the body of the optic visually.

This is looking through the rear, I can still place the dot on the tip of my irons while looking through them.

I can hit a 6 inch plate at 100 with this set up all day long, so it does work lol.

Hey guys,

I joined the forum back in September and took about a 3 month hiatus shortly thereafter. I'm in the process of looking for a new job and just haven't had much time for forums other than buying and selling stuff over on the Hide. I've spent the past hour or so looking through the forum and I have to say, I'm glad I came back. SnipersHide has the edge when it comes to quantity of content, but can't hold a candle to the quality of content y'all have here. I'm glad to say I'm back, and hopefully for good this time! Right before I left, I asked for help with my photography and received lots of good info. I've definitely improved since September, but my pictures are still FAR from where I want them to be in terms of quality. I'm confident that I'll get there eventually though. I thought I'd start off by posting a couple pictures of my Noveske that I've taken recently. I'm using a Canon Rebel XTI with a 17-55mm lens.

I appreciate it! Been stippling for a few years now and really enjoy it. That KAC logo was my first and only attempt at a design and I think it turned out pretty good. Btw Battle Cock, I just found you on Instagram. I gotta step my game up lol. That is some impressive work you've done!

The trick is to be a masochist who is willing to torture himself with 22+ hours on one handgun, and enjoy it. I post higher res shots on the Grip Stippling thread here if you want to check it out or share your work there.

Lol I've done quite a few PMAGS and XTM and KAC panels but I've never done a Glock. I can imagine the amount of time that goes into it though. It's been a while since I've stippled anything, but IIRC it takes me about 2-3 hrs for a 30 rounder and about 1.5 hrs for a 20 rounder. I'll check out the Grip Stippling thread here in a minute. Is it just for Glocks or are mags and rail panels acceptable as well?

If it's gun related and you've poked it with a hot iron you can probably post it there.

How'd I miss a Noveske Thread?

My form 1 6.8 SBR. Noveske barrel and lower, BCG and Noveske marked BCM gunfighter. BCM blem upper with DD lite rail 7, BABC and Aimpoint H1 in ADM mount. I've since gotten rid of the AFG, and have a Gear Sector stubby on it.
