I've been tring to decide on what forum to put this in for a whlie, and I finally decided that the picture gallery would be the best place.

The intent of this thred is to show off before and after photos of builds you guys do for yourselves and others.

Some highlights of the SPR-type rifle I'm building for my wife:
- Iron Brigade Armory match upper with Hart Stainless 1:8 20" barrel
- War Sports lower

Ive sent some parts out for ceracoating and they *should* be ready by Monday, so hopfully the pict will be up by Tuesday! I wanted to post the before and after shots on the same day but I got to excited and couldn't wait to start the post!

Man,

I love these kind of build threads. I've so far enjoyed Compu-whatevers thread on his umbrella stuff. Looking forward to how turns out.

Thanks Kevin....thanks haha. And I like these threads as well. Always cool to see how people put their rifles together. I will definitely be subscribing to this one.

Schambers we gotta get the wives to post a review after the builds are done.

I'm just going to call you Compufabulous... because that's what I keep thinking for some reason when I see that alphabet soup

I wrapped it up tonight! We Zero and confirm this weekend.

I didn't intend to keep this thread to myself. If anybody has some before and after photos, feel free to share them.

What's the parts breakdown list?

The upper was made by Iron Brigade Armory with barrel by Hart. I ran into the owner from IBA at a gun show and he told me the upper was part of a limited run that they made for Bushmaster some years ago.
I replaced the hand guard they had with a Troy and put in a Troy low profile gas block
The scope is a Leopold 8-16x Mark AR
The lower receiver is from War Sports, in conjunction with Legion Firearms
Magpul PRS
BAD 45 selector
Tango Down grip
The lower parts were from Palmetto State Armory
The bipod is a Harris on a GG&G mount
Scope mount is from SWFA
The sling is from Blue Force Gear. The QD mount on the rail is Noveski and the DQ on the PRS was from Brownells.
Surefire flash hider
ALG ACT trigger

Nice. Details?

Lets see if I get it all in here:

Vortex Viper HS-LR 2.5-10x32 FFP
Innovative Arms WAR Upper and 5.56 can
Rainier Arms 18" Match .223 Wylde 1:8 twist, SPR Profile
NiB BCG...can't remember where I got it...maybe Joe Bob Outfitters? It was just sitting in my parts box.
Parallax Tactical Free Float Super Slim Rail (FFSSR) 17.5" that I won during the 100K here on WEVO
Harris Bipod 6-9"
OIF Commemorative lower
Geisselle SSA-E
Magpul ACS & MOE grip

Suppressed/Unloaded it weighs 11lbs 3oz but it's so well balanced it really doesn't feel that heavy at all.

I know I break a sort of "rule" about spanning the scope on rings across the upper and rail gap but I'm shooting paper/steel from 0-600yds. I have seen Mk12 Mod 1s the same way kill Hadj at 700 give or take, set up the same way, using dreaded ARMS rings. The rail is aligned, it's tight as hell and it allows me the eye relief I desire. I honestly don't know of a company that would make a one piece mount that would have it that low AND far forward

Does this count? Not an AR, and I didn't do the work.

Jerry R: I like the additions you decided to go with on the Ruger. Completely improves the gun's appearance and still keeps things classy
