You know I didn't even notice it was cerakoted. I thought that was legit wear. Yeah, it's killer. Makes me want a 1911 all over again.

You said beater pistol, were you carrying it? How is that with the extended threaded barrel?

OWB for this one, and most all my holsters are for Gov sized 1911, so the threaded barrel shouldn't be an issue. That's new, and I haven't carried it like that yet. I'm a bigger guy, so barrel length isn't an issue, it's grip size concealment. Wanted to run a can on one of my 1911s, so this one was the choice, as it's the one I grab first (Although my Glock has been my nightstand gun lately).

Here was the gun before. All factory, is the best shooter I have. I've put a couple of hundred rounds through it now, and I really like the flat trigger on it. Still my most accurate 1911, and easy to shoot.

I run this IWB or in a belt slide, but I prefer a full size grip - the magwell does help:

Not yet , I've been a bit under the weather, probably this weekend.. But yeah this 1911 is very clean, well maintained, I was surprised when I patched the bore & the patch came out spotless.... Running a couple boxes of ammo at least through this is at the top of the list on my next range session.... Carry & range ammo....

I just ordered some sights from them. They're for a Springer "1911" 9mm, TRO and use a proprietary sight cut. Spoke with Mr. Harrison personally, at some length about various options, etc. Really good people to work with. Helped me pick the right sight combo, and had them in my mail box 48 hours later.

I totally agree..

Makes me regret selling the FS and commander SR’s I had

From shooting many different 1911’s, The front checkering is a must for me. I need to do my old DW heritage and get the crappy grip tape off..lol

Thanks. Built the 45 decades ago using Colt factory blems (bought from J&G in Texas), got an ACE 22 conversion kit, and sent it all to Wilson Combat and had everything hard-chromed so it looks like a matched set. Fun project that turned out to be a great shooter.

[:D] Funny! I like the platform. Accurate, reliable, great trigger. And, you don't have to drop a fortune to get a good one (but you can [BD] )

I've got an old 80 Series Colt, and of course my Duty Kimber from 2002-2012. I'm not sure why I bought it, I guess for nostalgia. I like the Commander barrel length. Been looking at those M1991's marked guns.

Jerry R

The Les Baer Commanche is Commander length, but mine is the Monolith with a full length dust cover.

I still really like that Ruger if yours Jerry...makes me regret getting rid of mine and matching commander...

I’d like to find one of those Ruger SR1911R , blacked out with picatinny rail, single sided safety...

I'll play. Only 1911 I own. Friend had a BNIB Dan Wesson TCP in 9mm that I traded for. Not a big fan of the brass bead front sight, but other than that I like it.

I’d like to add a bobtail commander and DW revolver also.

I carried a Pro Carry II for 11 years as a duty gun. Sent back to the factory for repairs twice. Giant piece of shit. Ended up buying it from the department after it was retired and I still have it for nostalgia, but not use.

I think the technical term is "battered wife syndrome."

I'm surprised that you didn't like it. I had one (from the same batch) and I liked it for the most part. It was certainly better than the predecessor, the 96D...
