Here's a first look at the Mega Arms (http://megaarms.com/) AR15 MKM. This is very similar to the 7.62 MKM and features the same mounting system with a 2 piece design. Weights are unknown, but it appears that they will release them in 14", 12", 9" and 7" MSRP's will be $485, $462, $431, and $400 respectively.

From our friend Stickman, who wrote this for Military Times: (http://blogs.militarytimes.com/gearscout/2013/09/17/mega-arms-5-56-mkm/)

Does the new Mega Arms (http://megaarms.com/) 5.56 MKM look familiar? It certainly should, you can think of this as the little brother to the .308 Mega Arms MKM MA-TEN which is also a two piece upper receiver and handguard which when assembled resembles a monolithic upper receiver. The two piece assembly allows for lighter weight, interchangeable lengths, easier assembly, more precise machining, easier cleaning under the handguards, and replacement of rails in event of damage. This rail and receiver combo is aircraft aluminum and anodized a deep black. A quick glance lets us see this is a keymod rail system, and as with all keymod rails each accessory from other manufacturers will fit the slots.

Even with the most cursory running of the numbers, this upper+rail combination is really tempting. GI Bill payments can't come soon enough.

Cool!! I am liking this, so i wonder how long till these will be out? And what a real world price will be for them, i like the 14" length and need a rail to finish my build but this setup is intriguing.

So cause i dont know i am assuming this doesnt use a std barrel nut and uses one they supply with it?

Judging by the instructions that MEGA Arms provides about barrel installation (http://megaarms.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/MKM-BARREL-INSTALLATION-INSTRUCTIONS.pdf), the MKM uses the barrel nut that they provide with it.

Additionally, Mega recommends the use of the following low profile gas blocks:

Rainier Arms: Low profile match grade gas block
Stag: Low profile gas block
Vltor: GB-2S
Yankee Hill: YHM-9383
