Hello,

The shop that I do gunsmithing for is a Boyt Dealer and Boyt makes very high quality rifle cases and other items as well.

But the main purpose of this thread is for the folks that use AR-15's with 20" inch Barrels and use the Original 20 Rd. M16 Magazines. And as you're probably already aware, finding a case for an AR-15 with a 20" inch Barrel is easy - but they all come with tall pouches for the 30 Rd. Magazines.

So, here's where the Boyt 44" inch Signature Series Canvas Scoped Rifle Case with a Leather Sling and/or their Alaskan Series Canvas Scoped Rifle Case with a Heavy-Duty Web Sling comes in handy and ends the problem of finding a high quality padded case for your 20" inch Barreled AR-15 that has an accessory pocket that will hold (4) extra 20 Rd. M16 Magazines perfectly! In other words, the accessory pocket isn't too tall - plus there's enough room in the case to keep a 20 Rd. Magazine in your weapon.

The 44" inch Signature Series & Alaskan Series Scoped Rifle Cases are available in a nice Olive Drab Color or Kahki Color - but since I personally never cared for Kahki or Desert Tan, I buy all my Canvas and Nylon Gear in Olive Drab, or my preferred color Foliage Green when it's available.

Here's the link to Boyt's Alaskan Series Scoped Rifle Case and it's the one I use because of it's Heavy-Duty Web Sling. http://www.boytharness.com/inventoryD.asp?item_no=GC98P&CatId={F6659C03-59B3-49DE-BD39-168C26EC1C0D}

Also, if you're looking for a high quality, heavy-duty canvas case for an un-scoped rifle, then just order a Boyt Signature Series or Alaskan Series Shotgun Case because they don't specify between un-scoped rifles & shotguns, but obviously you can put either in their shotgun case.

The only thing I don't like about the case is it's leather hanging string isn't strong enough to safely support the case with a weapon in it, so, I replace the leather string with a section of Foliage Green Para-Cord so I can hang my cases up with weapons in them when needed. The leather hanging string will support an empty case without any problems thou. BTW: These cases have very large, heavy-duty brass zippers - so there's no worries about blowing out a zipper when carrying the case with a heavy weapon in it.
