I don't know if this goes here or not. I am going to start a build this coming March for the rifle I will use for 2 Gun Competition. This is going to be a long drawn out build so I can budget high on some things. I was wondering if anyone has experience with kryptek cerakote or hydro dip?

The wife finally got you to see doing builds my way eh? I kid I kid.

To answer your question, I like cerakote. It's tough, durable, and proven. In fact some suppressors are coated with cerakote, which gives you an idea of how heat resistant it is. I know that hydro dipping gives you more options as far as designs, but I don't think it's as durable in my opinion.

Can't wait for the build thread on this one.

Agreed with the durability of Cerakote v. Hydro. I have heard of some hydro's wearing off over time. If it is for a hard use gun, I would go Cerakote....if it is an occasional or show gun, Hydro may be a good option.

I think a lot of people are hydro dipping and then spraying a clear cerakote on top.

I will have to do some looking to find a place that can do kyrptek typhoon cerakote. I have an idea of what I want it to look like and hopefully whoever I find to do it can understand what I want it to look like. I don't know about hard use as I have never shot competition before and this year I will just be doing local competition. Going to use the wife's rifle while I am building mine.

Joint Force Enterprise quoted me the best price on doing Kryptek Typhon, don't know if it was cerakote though. Controlled Chaos Arms does cerakote Kryptek Typhon, they have pics posted of their work.

Any Wa guys have any thoughts on Northwest Hydroprint out of Montesano http://www.northwesthydroprint.com/ ? I was thinking about shipping of my Saiga 12 for some dipping and was curious if anyone has any dipping experience or should I just get it cerakoted ?

You can have it dipped and then a clear cerakote over it to make more durable...
