Now Shipping to your favorite Magpul Dealer (Built around our MS1 slider, this system provides rapid adjustments to either lengthen or shorten the sling with no slipping once set, and no tails, loops, or other potential snag hazards.), the MS1 Sling (Built around our MS1 slider, this system provides rapid adjustments to either lengthen or shorten the sling with no slipping once set, and no tails, loops, or other potential snag hazards.). A dedicated 2 point sling built around the MS1 slider, this system provides rapid adjustments to either lengthen or shorten the sling with no slipping once set. Reminds me of the Vickers Blue Force Gear Slings that were my favorites for years.

Description:

The MS1 sling (http://store.magpul.com/product/MAG513) is the newest and most versatile addition to the Magpul (http://store.magpul.com/product/MAG513) line of rifle slings. This sling system starts with an optimized, dedicated two-point sling that serves equally well in a one-point role when using optional adapters. Built around our MS1 slider, this system provides rapid adjustments to either lengthen or shorten the sling with no slipping once set, and no tails, loops, or other potential snag hazards. In a two-point role, the MS1 allows easy shoulder transitions, rapid adjustability for hands free rifle carry and shooting support from various positions. The MS1 system also has a series of adapters that are sold separately and based on the MS3 and MS4 slings. By adding the appropriate adapter (available in Paraclip or QD) for the sling, you can easily add one-point functionality to your MS1.

In testing, the sling had to survive tens of thousands of cycles in wet, dry and sandy conditions, static load testing without slippage for 72 hours and weighted 6 foot dynamic drop tests. In addition to the controlled lab tests, we also swam it, jumped it, hunted with it, hiked into the mountains with it, and most importantly shot with it in a variety of rugged field conditions.

Like all of our slings, the entire MS1 system is made entirely in the US, and is fully Berry Amendment compliant.

Features:

Dedicated two-point sling
Rapidly adjustable for length (shorter or longer) with new MS1 Slider
No tails, loops, or other potential snag hazards
Light weight yet durable hardware made heavy-duty polymer
Custom 1.25 inch wide nylon webbing material is strong and wear resistant while remaining anti-chaff for user comfort
MIL-STD-595 IR compliant for the Coyote colored webbing
Can be configured for two to one-point convertibility with optional adapters

MSRP: $34.96

At a $35 price point, those are going to sell like crazy.

$35 is the MSRP, so I'm guessing the street price along with MIL/LE discounts should bring it into the high 20's. The Magpul guys have said getting rid of the expensive hardware significantly brought down the price point. But you're right, I think the MS1 maybe the best seller of all their slings as a lot of the other models are way past the $50 price point.

I've run a BFG sling (padded) through two classes, one a carbine class, the other SPR class, and they're nice, but when I've used my MS3 sling, I've found I've appreciated the wider strap. I've used the MS3 (that I "won" in the SPR class) in a PR class, but also a lot in actually needing a sling to do sling stuff (like hold the rifle while I hump across a span of BLM land). For me and my uses, I've found the Mapgpul sling to be more comfortable. Having a simple 2-point with no included attachments for such a killer street price should go a long way.

I too own the MS3 and love it! Especially when I can go from a single point link to a double point link. Only issue is, when I run single point, I tend to drag my 16" rifle (short people problems) :P

Dude, ever since you've known me, you've gotten better and better at finding deals, but that's not necessarily good for me, as I might feel compelled to buy a MS1 as well!

I'm impressed with mine, so far. I've never owned a Magpul sling before, but the MS1 has very nice webbing, which is smooth and comfortable while also having enough stiffness that it doesn't roll over easily or get twisted. I have a couple Gear Sector two point slings which I've used for years plus a few slings of my own design (my friends call me the closet seamstress since I sew most of my own gear), but the quick adjust slider on the MS1 is what tempted me to try something different. The slider is super easy to adjust and locate without looking, and I like how there's nothing hanging off no matter the set length.

Well worth the minimal cost in my mind. :)

Magpul Industries will also be offering Gen2 Versions of their current slings, which come with all appropriate adapters and hardware to have the same functionality as out MS3, MS4, etc., but you will still be able to swap out hardware and connectors.
