Hi gang!

i wanted to post this here as well.... Especially when this community has helped me gravely already (Stickman personally answered a few questions of mine already!)

On to the topic, this was also posted over at Ar15.com as PSA is a member there and actively responding.

Hi, AR15 community and PSA.

First off I want to say thank you PSA for your effort during the big holiday rush and the price that went along with it. Since discovering you guys, I believed I claimed for bankruptcy... :P

Any who on to the issue that I have at hand. This is my 1st time ordering a BCG from you guys and I thought why not go with the premium as it was on sale ($109 + shipping). I currently own a BCM BCG on my higher end AR and wanted all the bells and whistles for my next without breaking my wallet....or arm...or leg.... (My 'safe' queen cost $3,000 after all said and done) This build was also intended to be used as reference points for future products, in the like, the BCG from PSA when compared to BCM.

The problem that I am noticing when i received my BCG was rough machine marks of the gas key on one of the BCG and rough marks on both firing pins (See pics included). To those who have owned the PSA Premium BCG, have you ever gotten one like this? As far as I am concern, the firing pin is my biggest concern as it literally look unsafe to fire....

The firing pins on both BCG's, yes, both BCG shows the same type of markings (It's like some termite had a field day on the surface)

Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Also, I intend on emailing PSA with a link to this thread as a way to easily explain what is going on.

I do firmly believe PSA meant to send me a "Premium" BCG and these two just happened to escape through... :/

If that's the QC the "premium" line gets, imagine what the budget PTAC line gets.

I have no issues with PSA for the most part. I own a few of their products. But now that the panic has died down and quality parts from known companies are readily available, there really isn't a reason not to buy from the usual broken machine sounding, BCM/Noveske/DD

Too many sales, not enough attention to detail. Let us know what they say.

Those not required to hold to a standard, rarely do.

In my experience, PSA is a good outfit that sells high-grade equipment, but needs to get its QC house in order. Basically, their equipment is of a very good standard, but too many "oops" are still getting through. I bought four new HPT/MPI bolts during a sale and one came through with an extractor missing a claw. I received an assembled upper from them having a BCG that had rock-hard drill tailings from the gas key bolt holes hanging down into the bolt tunnel. In both cases they bent over backwards to quickly fix my problems and the replacement parts were perfect in every regard. But somebody needs to tutor them on quality control before they suffer irreparable damage to their reputation and their business.

Solsauss, as much as I like PSA, I would NOT accept the parts in your photos. I'm sure they'll replace them ASAP. But before you do that, take a look into the bolt tunnel and make sure there aren't any drill tailings in there. Considering my past experience I'm a little nervous about a badly finished gas key. FWIW

Thanks for the input guys!

UWone, I did intend on picking up a BCM BCG, but this sale caught my attention as it claimed premium. Well, at least that's what they said. Plus, I currently have 3 builds in progress that are going to be "Used and Roughened rifles" as opposed to being conversation starter. Nonetheless, I have not been disappointed with PSA and don't intend too either. Shall be emailing them shortly.

JayPee, thanks for the input, yeah, I doubt with those markings, it would survive 100 rounds before cracking. :/

Well, PSA will be sending a replacement! Apparently this one did get pass "QC" checks.

Now maybe I can finish my builds. :)

Thanks for all the response!
