I somehow bent my hammer spring when installing new pins. Should I be concerned? Trigger and hammer are functioning normal.

Here is a picture. Notice how the spring in the top part of the picture is bent in away from the receiver? Should I replace it or just shoot it?

It's difficult to tell from the photo (use the macro setting and focus) but it looks like only the end of the spring is bent. If the spring legs are still correctly positioned on top of the trigger pin you should be okay. However, it's a $5 part (Colt part # SP61697) and if I had any question, I would just drop in a new one. Pic of the proper configuration below.

The spring legs are still positioned on top of the trigger pin. It only bends inward after the trigger pin. I think the spring got caught in between my new pin and the receiver wall when changing them out.

You should be okay. Order a new one and shoot this until you're ready to do a good detail cleaning and then replace it.

I would run it but not forget about it and order a new one just in case. It is a cheap and easy fix so there is no reason to allow it to be an issue before replacing it.

I took it in to show my gun smith and he told me not to worry about it and just shoot it.
