I tried searching a good bit here, but I failed to find any kind of thread. I recently got the Noveske extended head takedown pins. I was doing some reading, and people are really excited that Battle Arms Development now offers an Enhanced Pin Set, which essentially does the same thing, except has an easy install feature.

Barring the installation, are there any real differences? Anyone out there with both sets compare them?

I'll try to throw up a comparison pic tomorrow.... but I will tell you both are excellent products. If you're looking at pins just for an easy take down, I'd give the slight edge to the Noveske Pins. The Battle Arm Pins are very easy to install with already existing pins, so they do have that advantage. Also, the Battle Arms Pins are flush with the lower, so nothing extra to get snagged on, if that's something you're concerned with.

I don't think you can go wrong with either. Both high quality parts.

Yeah, I got the Noveske pins in the mail today. My upper and lower are still so tight, these aren't making things much easier for takedown right now, but I know that will wear off soon. My original pins were so tight I had to tap them in, however after shooting it a good bit and stripping it down a few times, they became loose enough to pop out with my fingers. They definitely look good on the build.

What kind of upper and lower are you using?

I have the regular Noveske pins and they are pretty tight also. I have heard that the Battle arms Developement pins don't fit as tight. My Noveske pins are in a MUR-1A and Noveske gen2 lower.

Don't get me wrong, I like the tight fit. If there is one thing I can't stand, its a loose fitting rifle. And since posting this, the fit of the pins has become a lot better. FTR, I have a NTD lower and a Spikes Billet Upper.

I like the pic with the EPS better.

Who makes that lower? I've never seen anything like that before.

Looks like a Mega Gator.

The lower looks to be a Mega Arms forged lower (http://megaarms.com/ar-15/lower-receivers/forged-lower/nggallery/thumbnails/) with a High Velocity nickel-boron ASTG guard (http://high-velocity-arms.myshopify.com/collections/hva/products/astg-advanced-saftey-triger-guard) and High Velocity ambi mag release (http://high-velocity-arms.myshopify.com/collections/hva/products/amr-nib). Each of the High Velocity pieces sport a retail price approaching that of the lower receiver.

Anyone think the Noveske Pins could get caught on something? Not sure if I need extended pins on an AR. Looks like the BAD pins are the way to go.
