Description:

SR-15 IWS E3 CARBINE MOD 2 (http://www.knightarmco.com/portfolio/sr-15-iws-e3-carbine-mod-2/?cate_cm=commercial&term=sr-15&features=sr-15-iws-e3-carbine-mod-2#!prettyPhoto)

The Knight’s Armament Company (http://www.knightarmco.com/portfolio/sr-15-iws-e3-carbine-mod-2/?cate_cm=commercial&term=sr-15&features=sr-15-iws-e3-carbine-mod-2#!prettyPhoto) SR-15 line represents the pinnacle of firearms based upon the Eugene Stoner designed operating system. The Mod 2’s 16” chrome lined, 5.56mm NATO barrel is manufactured to military specifications, and features a proprietary mid-length gas system that increases reliability and durability while also reducing felt recoil. An improved E3 round-lug bolt design both enhances function and increases bolt life far beyond the industry standard. An ambidextrous bolt release, selector, and magazine release offer left-handed users the ergonomic advantages inherent to AR15-based controls, as well as giving right-handed users alternative methods of manipulation to increase efficiency of movement. The drop-in two-stage trigger serves double duty as an aid to long range precision marksmanship while enabling surgical speed shooting at close range. The Mod 2 update introduces several notable features to the SR15 IWS line: a URX4 handguard with Keymod accessory mounting points for-ancillary device attachments increases cooling characteristics and reduces weight and bulk compared with standard 1913 rail attachment methods. A Mod 2 gas system with a proprietary design minimizes leakage and ensures more consistent operation in harsh conditions. A gas block secured with a locking ring instead of taper pins increases barrel rigidity and eliminates the need to custom fit the gas block to the barrel. Included parts and features, such as the two-sided receiver end plate QD sling swivel mounting point, collapsible six-position SOPMOD stock, hybrid ambidextrous selector lever, and folding 200-600 meter sights, round out the package to deliver a cutting-edge carbine right out of the case.

My wish list currently has a 11.5 version of this on it.

Same here, but I'd actually prefer a URX 3 or 3.1 rail instead of the 4. This SBR bill passage is costing me some money.

I also like the 3 or 3.1 better, I'm running a MK4 mostly now. The 4 installation looks like a pain in the rear.

Saving up to either SBR a lower or save up a little longer for the KAC 11.5. Can't make up my mind on which route I'd rather go. Probably gonna SBR a lower and buy the KAC upper.

I wish they added an anti rotational feature on the URX 4.

To me the the BCM KMR looks to be a better option than the 4. It's cheaper, close to the same profile, lighter and has anti rotation tabs.

The URX looks like the installation would be a pain, but once it's mounted it should be very solid.

The KMR itself might me a good option alone, but as a complete gun this thing looks pretty damn good.

I agree. If I do invest in a keymod rail it would be the KMR but I'm just going to hold out and see what Gear Sector is doing with the GSR.

That Gear Sector looks hot, but I thought it wasn't going to be keymod.

It isn't. I meant I was waiting to see what Gear Sector was doing before I hop on board with the keymod system.

I also haven't got into keymod yet. I don't know if it would benefit me much since I don't change out accessories often. Most of the keymod rails are a little to thin for me.

GOST,

Just find us some 11.5 KAC URX 3.1 Uppers for a reasonable price :)
