I recently discovered a new company producing lowers. Founding Fathers Armory (http://foundingfathersarmory.com/) was started in April 2013 and has been producing some unique looking Billet Lowers. With all the other companies producing lowers now, what makes these guys different? Well, I was approached by one of the guys who helped design their lower and he's a solid guy. Of course here at WEVO we like solid individuals, and companies that support the 2nd Amendment. Looks like they are in the process of producing a matching upper to their lower, so hopefully the owner will chime in from time to time here and update it with new products and pictures. Check out their website here (http://foundingfathersarmory.com/)
They also have a social media presence on Facebook, found here (https://www.facebook.com/FoundingFathersArmory):

Hello Weapon Evolution Readers!
Paul here from Founding Fathers Armory - thanks UWone77 for the nice introduction and the opportunity to share some info about us and our products.
First of all, the info in the first post is right on and a good start at introducing Founding Fathers Armory as a company and our first Billet Lower, Model AR-1791
Hopefully its obvious from the company name, the receiver model # and the Liberty Bell Logo that we are all about Constitutional rights! While the 2nd Amendment is obviously a strong focus, we feel its important to talk about ALL of the rights that are recognized and protected by the US Constitution and the importance of protecting them. In support of that effort we include a pocket size copy of the US Constitution with every product we sell.
http://www.foundingfathersarmory.com/files/gbimg11x/pkgconst.jpg
So UWone77 asks a great question "What makes us and our product different?" and he provides an important part of the answer in his observation that our lower is "Unique". Being described as "Unique" can be used equally to describe something that's good or bad, we think it was meant as a compliment in this case ;)
So whats unique about Founding Fathers Armory? Hopefully this does not border on TMI but here goes....
First of all, there is exactly ONE employee at Founding Fathers Armory - me.... Yep, I'm the President, the Marketing Director, the Office Manager, the Shipping Dept., the Lead Machinist, Director of R&D, the IT Director and the Janitor. I can't however, claim all of the credit (though I am solely responsible for all of the criticism) for our growing success. I have some incredibly supportive family and friends who have been less selfish with their time and ideas than Mother Teressa. Without them I would not have this "unique" story to tell or this awesome lower to sell!
Maybe even more unique is that until 18 Months ago I was employed by a Fortune 15 Computer Company where I previously spent my 19 year career with them Managing and Training National Sales Teams. Then they laid 29,000 of us off and I found myself unemployed for the first time since I was like 9. I lined up several good opportunities and was confident that I would be back to work in no time making even more moolah than before. Then..... there was the election - you know the election, the one where the inexperienced, Constitution Hating, Gun Hating, Capitalism Hating, Freedom Hating incumbent somehow got reelected? Well, within a week of the Election every tentative offer and good looking opportunity I had disappeared with explanations like "We've decided to hold off hiring anyone until we get a better idea of what the economy will do bla, bla, bla".
All of it was really a blessing in disguise as I realized how much I hated Corporate America and that I was now free to do whatever I wanted to do. So what did I want to do? I wanted to make Firearms! I wanted a way to become more involved in the Constitutional rights discussion! So I went to Shot Show, cleaned out my savings and retirement accounts, bought a sexy CNC Mill, filed for my FFLs, brainstormed on ideas and names, and started figuring out how I was going to make this all work. I realized that I could learn alot of what I needed to on my own but then there were some things that would come much easier and faster if I had the right kind of help.
That's where the "Solid Guy" mentioned above came into the story. He was able to take the design ideas rattling around in my head and turn them into a "Solid" design in Mastercam. His expertise in both 3D Design and Machining along with the significant advances in machining / milling technology were key in making this crazy idea a reality. The first production lowers were available by mid summer and the demand has been increasing everyday thanks largely to forums like Weapon Evolution and their members. Word of mouth advertising cant be beat!

Speaking of word of mouth advertising, here are some words that describe why the AR-1791 Lower Receiver is "Unique"-
- Most obvious is the profile - it's not your standard AR Lower.
- The Extended Magwells "Chevron" shape is dedicated to the Military men and women (think Rank Insignias) who have fought to defend our Nation, our rights and our freedom. Plus it looks dang cool!
- The Extended Magwell increased forward surface and finger groove provide a comfortable and secure support hand CQB Grip
- The Extended Magwel IS compatible with Magpul MOE, G2 & G3 Pmags. Some other lowers with similar Magwell geometries do not work with non GI Mags
- The Extended Magwell is Beveled and Taper Milled with a completely smooth interior surface - no pockets or ridges to snag magazines
- Spring loaded upper tensioning device insures a properly aligned, rattle free fit with any upper
http://www.foundingfathersarmory.com/files/gbimg11x/uppertension.jpg
- EZ Trigger Adjuster is included - instantly improves any standard LPK trigger group by removing trigger pre-travel, decreasing pull weight to deliver a cleaner break and more accuracy
http://www.foundingfathersarmory.com/files/gbimg11x/eztrigger.jpg
- Integrated trigger guard - adds protection and stability to the entire platform
http://www.foundingfathersarmory.com/files/gbimg11x/tgbtmside.jpg
- We added material to the buffer tube / extension tower, trigger guard, pivot pin and other key areas to add strength and rigidity where needed most. Total receiver weight still comes in at under 9.4 Oz
- Mil-Spec standards assure compatibility with other Mil-Spec components
- Marked as "MULTI" cal offers versatility for builds in the caliber of your choice
- 4 step finishing process for a beautiful & consistent finish
http://www.foundingfathersarmory.com/files/gbimg11x/bhcdetaillogo.jpg
- Available in Mil-Spec type III Class II Black Anodized Hardcoat
- Also available in 7 standard Cerakote colors (Graphite Black, Armor Black, Tungsten, Magpul ODG, Magpul FDE, Coyote Tan and Burnt Bronze) We can do any Cerakote color for a modest additional charge
- Every product comes with a pocket size copy of the US Constitution
- We also offer custom Engraving (custom serial #, names, logos, icons, sayings, motto's etc.)
- it's a decent list of features but what really makes it "Unique" is its design and shape. It looks different and it gets noticed whenever I take it out to the range or anywhere for that matter.
I'll post more pictures over the coming days or you can hit our website for plenty of pics there too.
If you have questions ask them here or email me directly.
Thanks!
Paul

Yankee and some other company are also producing lowers with a very similar magwell design.
Hey GOST
You are correct - Yahkee Hill announced a new lower at Shot that has a similar look but it is not shipping until June or July 2014. I got a good look at their prototypes at Shot and they will be nice pieces. To be honest I am happy to see that a well known and respected manufacturer is validating what I have always felt is a cool looking magwell profile. The only other design that I am aware of that is similar is the SP223 from Seekins but it's profile is more on the round side whereas the AR-1791 is more angular.
Not trying to be rude but Arsenal Democracy is the other company with the same magwell.

I looked at the Yankee receiver and couldn't help but notice that there are a lot of similarities to some for the other Lower Receivers that I have designed,.
Hi, allow me to introduce myself, My name is Adrian Garcia I currently operate under the business names The CNC Consultant, Titan Tactical Products & Solutions, and American Rifle Designs.
I azure you all my designs are are not knock offs from a larger companies designs I find it interesting as a small business that bigger companies can't be as innovative and have to copy from a small business as myself.
My inspiration for this receiver was originally from ironically enough another Idaho based company but after talking to Paul of Founding Fathers Armory and several Video Conferences later this design emerged seemed to better fit there company and represent them and the thrive to keep The Constitution alive and dedication to the brave Men and Women of our great Military that fight for our Country and our Freedom and also a design that complements the Founding Fathers Armory logo.
In short. A lot of thought go into my designs,. Like Founding Fathers Armory I am very innovative, and I am very honored to have been asked to help Paul and Founding Fathers Armory in the early stages of the project. I doing working with Founding Fathers Armory's other projects.

Hey GOST-
Its not rude at all to point out something that's factual and accurate, I actually welcome and appreciate your doing so!
I commented to UWone77 when he approved my registration that it amazes me how may great products, forums and ideas are out there that I have not come across before. The Weapon Evolution forum being one of them. I had never come across it until earlier this week.
The Arsenal Democracy lower is another product that I had not seen prior to your post. Its definitely a good looking lower and I am happy to see others breaking away from the traditional AR15 Lower Receiver design. In doing so there are bound to be many unintentional similarities in designs as there are really only so many things that can be done with a lower while adhering to the design criteria that maintaining compatibility with the rest of the AR15 platform demands.
One of my good friends upon seeing the new Yankee Lower on a magazine cover (can't remember which one...) a few months ago was "hey dude, they copied your design!". It was nice to fantasize for a few seconds that a well known and respected manufacturer was copying me but in reality their design grew organically from somewhere else, certainly not my design. I was just happy to see that others also thought the basic design had merit.
The good news in all of this is that with so many minds tweaking, modifying and improving all facets of the AR15 platform it continues push the boundaries of its original design to new levels everyday. I am humbled and happy to be a part of that process.
Paul
Wish you guys the best of luck.

If you guys can produce a matching upper with the same type of "lines" I think you might have a very unique looking receiver set.
Any other sneak peeks at what's coming in the future?

I couldn't agree more about matching lines on an upper. Do y'all plan to produce any AR10 style receivers?

Hey Guys-
Thanks for the feedback and encouraging comments! Now lets answer a few questions...
I couldn't agree more about matching lines on an upper. Do y'all plan to produce any AR10 style receivers?
CZ_Vali - Yes Sir! We are working on a complimentary AR10 Lower with a matched upper to follow soon after - Hopefully you will see both by Mid Summer
If you guys can produce a matching upper with the same type of "lines" I think you might have a very unique looking receiver set.

UW0ne77 - The upper is in the works as we speak, hopefully available within the next 6-8 weeks. As I mentioned in my introduction above I'm the only guy in the shop so it takes a while to get everything lined up. Thanks to my good friend Adrian from TheCNCConsultant
Hi, allow me to introduce myself, My name is Adrian Garcia I currently operate under the business names The CNC Consultant, Titan Tactical Products & Solutions, and American Rifle Designs.
taking on the majority of the CAD/CAM work I can stay focused in the shop. My goal was to not add the upper to the lineup until the Lower was perfect, which I feel it is as close as it can be so its time to build up the platform and add the upper. The AR10 Lower and Upper will follow the same methodology. The importance of having a matching upper is is secondary to making sure the Lower is everything it can be.
Eventually I am considering possibly something in the AR30 arena, possibly suppressors and even some NFA rifles. We will see where the market evolves between now and the next big mess in 2016 and beyond.
I'll leave you all with a pic of Big and Little brothers in Cerakote Tungsten...

Well now that you've come out and said you're considering NFA toys to the lineup, you have my interests piqued. I'll be waiting to see whats in store for you guys and wish you the best of luck. Adrian seems like a great guy, so at least you have some help out there. Keep us posted.
I really like that pistol build, the tungsten looks great on it.
