At 20 lumen output I guess it may make a decent walk light instead of just being a backup.

The white/red LED combo looks appealing to me. When I first started LE work, I used a Surefire M500AB with a red LED, and then graduated to a M951 with a red filter cap. (Man lights used to be huge) Now I'm using a scout. I do miss the filter and/or the red LED as it worked well in darkness without killing your night vision.

Now that I'm not working at night, I don't use my light as often. Between a backup light and buying a Surefire Filter for about the same price, I think the MFT light maybe a viable option. Only negatives are it would be yet another thing on the rail, but it would provide another source of white light in a pinch as not everyone checks their batteries and lights do go out from time to time.
