I wanted to take a moment to talk about some of the projects that SIONICS Weapon Systems is involved with. SIONICS Weapon Systems is located in Tucson, AZ. In addition to teaching the AR15 LE Armorer Course for them I am also involved in product development and building.

We were approached by Victor Lopez who is the man behind Sierra Element Training located in Southern California. Victor is a Gunnery Sgt. in the Marine Corps and Scout Sniper and an active duty LEO in So Cal. He wanted us to put together a solid carbine with some specific features.

These features were first and foremost a solid and reliable carbine, that was also lightweight and would be affordable. With the L.O.B.O carbine we accomplished that. L.O.B.O stands for Lightweight Optimum Battle Option. Here are the basics behind the weapon.

1. Upper Receiver Half- SIONICS 4150 CMV chrome-lined 16" medium contour, midlength gas sytem barrel, SIONICS marked M4 upper receiver with M4 feedramps, low profile gas block, M16 profile HP/MPI tested BCG with NP3 carrier, BCM/Vltor Gunfighter charging handle, Midwest Industries 15" KEY MOD rail, and Battle Comp 1.0 muzzle device.

2. Lower Receiver Half- SIONICS M4 lower receiver with ALG Defense QMS trigger, Ergo grip, Magpul Industries enhanced trigger guard, Vltor 5 position lower receiver extension, H buffer and B5 Systems SOPMOD stock.

Weight of the basic carbine with no sights was around 6 lbs, 6 oz. The decision to leave the sights off was due to the fact that consumers often times do not want to pay for certain extras that they don't want or need. With so many sight options it's hard to please everyone. Purchasers also have the option of adding the Battle Arms Development Ambi Selector Lever and their Enhanced Pin Set (EPS).

Here are a few pictures of the carbine.

Fixed the pics for you Gunz, so they should be working.

I like the inclusion of the Midwest Industries rail. I think they've come a long way in a few short years and make top notch gear. Are these the same barrels you guys are offering as stripped? If so, that's such an underrated barrel, especially for the money.

Rich,

Yes, that is the same. However we have new barrels that are almost to completion. These include 16" Melonited, 18" SPR with bead blasted finish, 11.5" and some lightweight barrels.

On a side note maybe you tell me what the deal is with the pictures. I still can't figure it out.

When you're using photobucket, you have 4 options on the right side of the screen when you're on your photobucket page.

1. Email & IM
2. Direct
3. HTML
4. IMG

Click the 4th option, cut and paste that link directly to your post. Should work fine.

If you're using Flickr click the icon on the WEVO page that says "insert image" and paste the link in the box.

I like the new barrel lengths, may have to try out a 11.5" this time!
