NorthTech Defense (http://northtechdefense.com/) is now shipping their new Ultra Precision Barrels and should be hitting Rainier Arms (https://www.rainierarms.com/?page=shop%2Fbrowse&category=new) first shortly. These barrels are available in 4 flavors, a 10.5" and 16" lengths in 1:7 or 1:8 twist rates. The barrels all have M4 feed ramps and are chambered in .223 Wylde, so it should easily handle both 556 and .223 rounds of your choice. Description:


Each and every Northtech Defense barrel is made with the highest level of accuracy during the machining process. The barrel is chambered and chamber polished and head spaced to a master bolt face with barrel extension individually matched to each barrel. It's also precision crowned. The rifle blank is precision gun drilled, lapped and rifled utilizing 5L rifling that has been proven to produce the highest level of shooting accuracy in the industry. Our barrels are guaranteed to shoot sub-MOA or your money back, no questions asked.

Each barrel extension is precision matched to each barrel. After the chamber is cut, the entire unit is then checked for proper headspace to a master bolt face in order to pass inspection prior to shipment.

I don't think you see a lot of people putting out 13.7" barrels simply because it's a niche market for that length. Unless you are perm'ing a KX3/5 or a BE Meyers FH, there isn't a reason for that length to exist.

Spoke to the guys at NTD the other day, after this run of 16" and 10.5" they will be doing 14.5" and 18" barrels. 300 Blackout Barrels will be in store after the .223 versions are released.

Indeed they would and was my thought exactly. May have to give Dustin a shout.

Side note Since you mentioned it stay tuned on the lower. I have it assembled but waiting on getting the permanent parts in place. (selector and pins)

Son of a biscuit eater! Those look nice. I just might have found my next barrel. 18" precision upper with a Vortex 2.5-10 FFP....I can see that in my future.
