Wanted to share this project that SIONICS has been working on with the family of Matthew "Axe" Axelson who was killed during Operation Red Wings and was subsequently awarded the Navy Cross for his actions during that event.

We were asked to design and build a rifle that would end up as a limited edition run of 100 rifles. The prototype rifle was debuted at the NRA Show in Indianapolis this past weekend.

Some design stuff is being tweaked as is the final engraving but this is the basic run down. Rifles will be shipped in a custom Pelican case (tan) along with special challenge coins, certificate of authenticity, technical data sheet and a sling.

Profits from the sales will go to charities as dictated by the Axelson family.

Good looking rifle, Sionics is a great deal for the price.

Please understand that this isn't "just a SIONICS" rifle. This is a project to remember PO2 Matthew Axelson as well as those from Turbine 33 who were killed in the rescue attempt. As mentioned this rifle is going to have special engraving and other items tied to it as well.

Limited run of 100... looks expensive. What's the MSRP looking like?

Kevin,

We are not involved in the marketing/selling. We are also not setting the price. Some numbers have been mentioned, but I am not 100% on it. We will have more info soon as we are pretty close to having the prototype/production rifle complete. Yes it will more expensive than the run of the mill gun. But, the there are a few things to remember. Profits of the sales are going to some charities designated by Axelson Tactical. There are several AR companies selling AR's that run in the mid 2000.00+ and they are not limited edition guns. And they generally do not include all the same high end components and extras included with this.
