This past Sunday night I decided to take my SWR Specwar 556 out for a spin along with some 65 grain. sierra hand loads over a healthy dose of H335. Found some pigs coming out to the field just after dark and stalked them for around 450 yards before they stopped moving and settled down to eating. My coworker and his step-son started the shooting putting one pig down. I laid another one down in the field and two more were mortally wounded. We were able to find one and finish it off. The fourth was never found, but we heard the death squeal. Three confirmed dead (one each) and a fourth likely dead.

I can say that hunting with a silencer is a ton better than without. Now to get a 30 cal can for my deer rifles.

I'm gonna say what they always say on the car forum I belong to...

THIS THREAD IS WORTHLESS WITHOUT PICS.

Fair enough, anxiously waiting. I don't have any "NFA toys" so I love seeing others.

First off, my rifle and toy.....(units are lbs and ounces) The others are theirs of the hunt. The light/used to be white colored one was my kill, the spotted one was my buddy's 14 year old step son's kill (with a Bushmaster bull pup) and the smaller one with the hole in the rear leg was my buddy's kill with a 30-06 as it was running away.

What's up with shooting the one in the back leg?

What's up with shooting the one in the back leg?

It was running away from us. My co-worker shot it with his scoped 30-06 off hand at about 60 yards as his step son held the spot light on it. The shot hit it in the back leg, breaking it, and putting the pig in the dirt. With the extreme angle, it actually was a kill shot. Entered the back leg, through the guts and into the vitals. We did walk up to it and put another shot on it to end it more quickly, but it was a dead pig either way.

Never seen that bushmaster bullpup.

Nice kill, now that we've got hogs in Michigan I am itching to take one.

I don't know much about it. The owner knows even less! He is seriously not a gun guy. His idea of a nice optic on his AR is a Aim Sports scope that he has to re-zero before every hunt. And yet he gives me grief for spending a lot of money on Eotechs, Nikons and the such. Claims his "Wal Mart stuff" is just as good. Heck, he gives me grief for reloading! Albeit only for my precision hunting rounds. He says I'm silly for spending more money on my reloaded ammo than a box of Remington Core-Lokts cost. But he never says anything when I'm shooting nickels and he's having a hard time keeping his covered with the palm of his hand! Cheap bastard.

I believe he was given the bull pup by a family member when he was a kid. It's a Bushmaster M17S in .223 Remington.
