16 June 2014, 15:17
In honor of our friend and fellow moderator here at Weapon Evolution, CW5 Charles Petrie, we are are going hold a fundraiser for his family. As you probably know, Chuck passed away on December 7th 2013. He was a great father, husband, solider, and mentor to many of us. The Chief is greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Our goal is to raise $10,000 and provide 100% of those funds to his family. We at Weapon Evolution decided to assist several members who came forward with the idea to raffle off a complete rifle for this cause. The members who wanted no credit, put this project together and we can't thank them enough. This rifle was 100% donated by manufacturers/vendors/WEVO members. The rifle was then professionally built by the armorers at Rainier Arms.

A maximum of 500 entries will be allowed at $20 per entry. All proceeds will go directly to Chuck's family. All parts were donated, all fees covered as stated before.

The rifle is complete and ready to ship to the winner. We've gone with the DMR/Recce profile for this particular gun. His son, Matt Petrie has approved of this build, and given his blessing for this event.

Here are the specs of the rifle:

Rainier Arms Forged Lower
Rainier Arms Raptor
Rainier Arms 18" Mountain Series Barrel
7075 MilSpec Receiver Extension
Mission First Tactical Grip
NorthTech Defense Upper
Iron Viper Products "ARMY" Forward Assist
Ares Armor NiB Bolt Carrier Group
Fortis Manufacturing 14" REV Rail
PWS FSC556 Brake
Battle Arms Development BAD-ASS
Battle Arms Development EPS Pin set
B5 Systems Bravo Stock
CMC Trigger
Vortex Viper PST 4-16x50 on an American Defense Mount
Ghost Gun Magazine - donated by Blacksheep Warrior (not shown)
SureFire Foregrip with Light - donated by Austin Weiss (not shown)
Mag Pouch (not shown) - donated by BattleHolster

Very nice. If I find out it's legal for you to ship to MD (has to be considered HBAR) I'll enter the raffle.

Good luck to all who enter this raffle for a wonderful cause.

You don't even know how much I hate ET. One Christmas I wanted an X-Wing fighter. I was so exited when I saw that box under the tree. I tore into that box like a fat kid on Valentine's day. And there he was that damn ET. Thanks Browcs for peeling the scab off.

We're not involved in handling any cash. Sorry, looks like Pistol Pay is the only option at this point.

Not sure,

Last night I think the tally was just over 1K, so we're a 10th of the way there. We'll keep promoting it off and on this week and see where we're at before another big push.

I don't have any press release styles of this, but let me ask Tony and see if he has time to make one up. Stick just shared it, so it should get some love. Gotta keep liking and sharing on all social media outlets so we can reach out goal!

Thanks for everyone's donation so far. As of Monday 6/30 we are just a hair over 1/2 way there, just over the 5k Mark. For those on facebook, it's always appreciated if you can just share the post a few times when you see it.

A very generous donor who donated 1k, which is 50 entries has declined to be included in the drawing, so your chances just went up another 10%. I'll be donating shortly myself, and won't be included in the drawing as well.

Thanks again for your donations to AC's family. They are good people and the Chief was one of the best.

I had a few people over the last couple of days asking about how the random number generator formula worked.

1. I'm not involved in picking the winner.

2. If you're more concerned about winning, then we don't want your donation.

3. I don't care who wins as my own donation is not eligible for the drawing.

4. Some people's kids.

Maybe it's hot as Hades in the house and I'm just cranky. [:D]

Just learned that the fundraiser will end on 7-13-14. Winner drawn on 7-14-14.

If we don't hit the goal by then, a very generous donor has stepped up and made a pledge to donate the rest. He's also withdrawing from the drawing, so that increases you chances just that much more.

For those in states like MD, I don't see why you couldn't just receive everything but the lower receiver, unless the law is written otherwise?

Thanks to all that have donated, if you haven't or want to do it again, now's the time. Your chances are pretty good.

Last count I think we're up to $7600

Last Day to donate/enter is today guys.

If you've already given, consider doing it again. If you haven't, it's a great cause for a great family and man. I think we are within the last $1000 towards our goal.

Last tally, $9700, but another generous WEVO member kicked in another $100, so we made it to $9800. Our mystery donor kicked in the last couple hundred and we're at 10k.

The winner will be announced later today. When they do the drawing, they'll let me know, and I'll post it here.

Thanks guys.

I checked the member list and he's not a member here. Too bad, I was hoping to see pictures posted!

In fact, apparently, all the messages they sent to him telling him to claim his prize went unanswered. They stepped up and looked up his phone number on Google, and was able to get a hold of him to claim it though. Apparently, the messages were going to his junk mail folder.
