I know it's never going to happen but I'd would like to see KAC offer just an E3 barrel and bolt package.

They come up fairly often in the classifieds section of TOS's. Usually about $450 or so for the barrel and bolt is what I've seen.

I've seen them for sale on both.

In fact I've seen quite a few great deals on complete E3 uppers on both arfcom and m4c. A buddy of mine was selling a lightly used E3 legacy upper with $700 and couldn't get any nibbles. I would definitely take that over a lot of these home built uppers with unknown parts any day of the week for a little more money. I know the E3 upper isn't the flavor of the week, but that's one of the best money can buy in my opinion.

Don't they sell the E3 Bolt separately now?

Wow, that's a deal. Or maybe it isn't right now with all the product out there, but there's no doubt you'd get $700 worth of use out that upper. Other than a weirdo extraction problem I had for two rounds (not in a row) when I first got it (and it was probably user created), I have been really happy with what my legacy E3 can do with standard M193 ammo. One of these days I need to quit being a cheapskate and run some MK262 through it to see how it shoots.
