Aero Precision (http://aeroprecisionusa.com/m5-stripped-lower-receiver.html) has been releasing a slew of new products this year. Up next is their .308 Lower Receiver. As you would expect from Aero Precision (http://aeroprecisionusa.com/m5-stripped-lower-receiver.html), these are made from 7075 T6 Aluminum and hard coat anodized. They're DPMS patterned receivers. Checkout Aero Precision's website (http://aeroprecisionusa.com/m5-stripped-lower-receiver.html) for more information and ordering here. (http://aeroprecisionusa.com/m5-stripped-lower-receiver.html)

I'm very happy with my Aero lowers. They make a very solid product.

You guys are making me want a .308 even more, and I do not have the money.

I couldn't afford to feed a .308 semi.... I'll stick my.22s, .223s and lever 30/30. But a man can dream.

Looks slick, wonder what their uppers are going to look like.

Lots of folks have been waiting on them to get back into the AR10 game, but not with the Armalite pattern; rather the SR25/DPMS pattern.

Any word yet on the uppers being High profile or standard DPMS profile? Just curious if they provided that much intel as well.

Thanks for the photo :D

I think Aero will be selling a lot of these and i think i will eventually be into one of these..Aero rep on ar15 says the forged set will be right at $300 or so.

Here is some more info he posted over there

" Release date is tentatively scheduled for next Friday. We will have lowers available first. Uppers should follow a week or two after that, and the enhanced uppers/handguards a few weeks after that.

The lower will take a DPMS .308 LPK, and we will be offering our own 308 LPK's. The pivot pin on our 308 LPK is slightly longer, but a DPMS pin will still function fine.
There are no roll pins in the lower. The trigger guard is integrated and the bolt catch uses a screw pin.

We will be offering BCG's, both with FA serrations and without. The uppers will take a standard AR15 forward assist, but they will use our screw pin to retain them. "

I also have not seen very many shots of this setup, Wonder how the other side is? UW or any one any more pics? This is the only other one i have seen

A little more info i got from a question i asked on ar15

"Old pic. New M5 lowers will have the same markings as the STS lowers and be milled to accept the Battle Arms Development short throw safeties. They will work with standard safety selectors as well.

Uppers should go into production this week, with the first parts shipping out next week. They will all have the provision for forward assist, but they will function fine with a standard 308 BCG.
Stripped uppers should be $135, assembled uppers should be $155, Enhanced uppers should be $185.

Handguards are a bit further out, but should be available by the end of July. We will have them in 9, 12, 13 and 15 and in quad rail, KeyMod, and M-LOK.

The only cerakote option will be FDE for now.

Lowers will also be available in Armalite pattern. "

Any idea on the upper rail height for handguard compatibility? I hope it's the high profile so a 308 CMR works. :)

It is high profile per their website.

Paycheck for this week will go into ordering one of these. :D

But might wait to see how the enhanced one look.

Thanks. Reading comprehension fail on my part. I thought I had looked at the specs on the Aero site, but missed the last line.

The only aesthetic issue I have with it is the angle outward on the front of the mag well, but it might not bug me once I see a completed rifle.

I thought I was alone lolol

That angle does bother me a little, but may appear different once fully assembled.

So fellas...get your builds going and i need some pics...[:D]

More info from Aero rep.

" M5E1 enhanced uppers will be available in the next week or two. M5E1 handguards are further out, probably not until end of July/beginning of August. The handguards will be the same profile as the M4E1, 1.8" ID and available in 9", 12", 13", and 15", in quad rail, KeyMod and M-LOK styles. They will be taller to match the receiver height. The only cerakote option will be FDE.

We will have combo kits for the lower, upper and handguard next month.

We will have 308 LPK's up soon, as well as receiver extension kits (mil spec tube, .308 spring, .308 buffer). "

" 308 BCG's should be available in the next few weeks. No estimate on pricing though. We will have a standard BCG available first, then one with forward assist serrations after that.
