Sorry if this has been posted before, but anyone shopping for a really (expensive) high quality scope might want to check out the extensive testing at precisionrifleblog.

The three relevant posts so far (with more to come as he finishes handling all the data and writing the articles:

Field test overview and scope line up: http://precisionrifleblog.com/2014/07/01/tactical-scopes-field-test-overview-rifle-scope-line-up/

Optical performance part 1: http://precisionrifleblog.com/2014/07/01/tactical-scopes-optical-performance-field-test-results-part-1/

Optical performance part 2: http://precisionrifleblog.com/2014/07/03/tactical-scopes-optical-performance-field-test-results-part-2/

Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with this blog. I'm just an avid reader that prefers testing like shown in the above links using straight data.

Especially interesting in the optical performance part 1 is how well Nightforce does considering their internet reputation as only having so-so optics but bomb-proof construction.

No love for Trijicon huh?

The only model that fits within the guidelines for scope selection in the test would have been the Accupoint 5-20x50. Perhaps Trijicon would not send him a sample?

Been following this series for a while. Was hoping the Bushnell would be ranked a bit higher on the optical clarity list. Glad to see Valdada getting some attention too.

That being said, I don't think I'll ever get deep enough into long range shooting to take advantage of the lowest scoring optic in this test.
