A quick update on the t-shirt contest. It's coming soon. (possibly tonight) I've seen most of the entries and man, some of you guys have some real creative talent. Mrs. Stick has been having a tough time picking a winner.



I've been wondering about the results of that. Wife and I worked one up a design for them. Would love to see some of the design entries too.

And I just happen to have a 1911 too :D - Not a real expensive one, but I never miss with it either. My favorite pistol and the first pistol I ever learned to shoot when I was 17 and joined the Navy. I have a very soft spot for the 1911. At 18 as a 3rd class Petty Officer I stood Petty Officer of the Watch on the quarterdeck of my first ship with a loaded Colt .45. Yes, i have a soft spot for the 1911.

I sure wish I did. Back then you had to use camera's that required the film to be developed. nobody really bothered to take pics on the ships. It was kind of frowned upon to do so also. I have my DD214 though.

It was stated in the rules no chancing down winners. Also it's been pretty clear on this thread that you would pm people to get stuff out. Just my $0.02. Just wanted to say thank you to any veterans out there. I am sure you guys are all over this forum. But thank you for protecting mine and myself. I debated military but never pursued it. I just went back through my settings and everything is as it should be so far as getting pop up notifications. I wonder if they only work if you log out and log back in. I use "remember me", and don't enter my username and password every time.

Same here BM2. I started pursuing it as well, even took the ASVAB and scored high. But life happens, everything kind of shifted for me and I never pursued it further. A part of me wishes I had, part of me is glad I didn't. But I know a lot currently serving, and a lot of vets, including family. I always hold service members past and present with the highest honor, what they do means a lot. Thank you all.

Law enforcement too, fighting the day to day wars here at home, thank you as well. That's just as dangerous sometimes.

This is my 1911 .45. The black mother of pearl grips were made by a retired US Marine in Georgia. It's not a top end .45, but it's mine, it's accurate and I always have it close by. I never miss with my .45 thanks to the US Navy.

Since it was the Veteran's Day giveaway, I spent just shy of 10 years (04-13) in the Army as an Infantryman. I deployed twice to Iraq spending right at 24 months there and spent 2.5 years as a drill sergeant. I missed out on the E7 board becsuse I was medically retired due to continually worsening back problems after getting hurt during my first deployment. I miss it everyday and wish I was still in!

I can't tell yall how thrilled I am for that Parallax rail. Anyone know by chance the length of it? Already trying to see in my head what rifle it's going on but I'm leaning on a whole new rifle. I have a 16" Rainier Match on one rifle and I'm debating another...maybe an 18" depending on rail length. An Innovative Arms WAR upper (giveaway sponsor and I use one already, they rule), and I'll look at the giveaway sponsor list for the rest of the parts

I was a little amused when the winner of the VLTOR upper told me that someone who won a Nickel Teflon upper offered a trade. (Obviously not straight up) but I think if I had won the mono upper, I couldn't want to build a new SPR!

There just is no fixing stupid. I'm thrilled to have won anything at all. I needed it and am using it too. I can't even imagine being some kind of schmuck and asking to change it for something else. Nor would I want to. It kind of boggles the mind as to why some people even bother to enter a giveaway like this. If I had won something different, I would have simply been grateful and changed my plans so I would use it.

One thing is for sure. I learned about a number of companies and their products that I didn't know of. I've now changed my plan for where I was going to get my barrel from too simply because I found out about a different one from here. Lantac dragon is loud indoors. In that photo you can see im wearing ear pro, but it was riding up my ear every time I was trying to get a proper cheek weld. When I took a shot, the right ear muff came slightly off. My right ear was ringing for about 3 minutes making the bzzzzz sound. Like when leaving a concert. Had to step out and buy those foam ear plugs to shoot the rifle after that.

But I loved every second of it.

The people in the range were like "WTF?! What is he shooting. That's an AR making that noise?" buddy of mine went with me and he was like, "dude. people are looking interested but pissed at the same time."

Mine really took a shit when I turned 25. I was in good shape and my workout routine was garbage, I ate nothing but junk, and probably consumed 4,500 calories worth of beer at least three times a week. Now my workout routine is solid, I'm in to mountain biking, I barely have a six pack a week, and my wife cooks quality, home made food, which apparently = getting fat and feeling like an old decrepit man all the time. :mad:

By the way, I can verify the Valentine's Day baby thing... my daughter's birthday is on Nov. 10th, and I shouldn't need to explain the rest.

I need a workout routine. I stay fairly active just because of work. I farm and work 40 hr+ weeks as a heavy truck mechanic. I used to think that was enough, but its clear I need to develop some sort of habit. Fortunately, alcohol has never been a big part of my life. At home a 12 pack will last me a month. My wife is also a great cook, and is always cooking. It beats fast food hands down, but still has its downside. We both are trying to be more conscious about our habits, but they can be hard to break.

Well, at this point i dont have anything worth stealing, lol. Also, that shit dont fly around here, its very rare to have someones care broken into. I like to take a mix of ground beef and sausage and roll it stuffed with peppers, onions, cheese and anything else I'm in the mood for, wrap it in bacon, and smoke it. Good stuff. Probably will cause be to die at a young age. But man it's tasty.

I like to grill and smoke, so that's not all I do. But that's a top choice

speaking of the smoking, throwing a pork shoulder on the smoker tomorrow. found some Jack Daniel's whiskey barrel wood at the wally world that I'm going to try out this time. Last time I used Stubb's, which was a mix of hickory, cherry, and apple; it was damned good.
