Usually when I drive out into the fields to shoot I carry my rifles in a break down bag. I usually have 2 or 3 uppers, one lower and a couple of handguns in there. So the 2 probably wouldn't stay mated. As much as I like to tinker though, I'd probably end up completely disassembling both the upper and lower.

I joined back in May when I was looking for a new forum because I was fed up with all the religious and political crap in the one I had been using for almost 2 years - that became more of a forum about religion and politics than about guns. I was reading in here more than anything else though during the summer especially since my main entertainment from the end of June was designing AR's for the Gunstruction competition - don't have a TV so, that was great entertainment. Never thought I'd win it though. There were a lot of really nice designs entered. After the Gunstruction competition ended, then I started being active here. I won an upper receiver from Sticks giveaway - I was thrilled. I'd had to sell my AR back in Sept. to pay bills because we were broke. Did have an upper receiver sitting on the shelf though. I just can't fathom the mentality of some people. Enter a giveaway, win something. Never say thank you and maybe even complain. Blah!

The Gunstruction rifle still isn't here yet. Should be in another week or two though. It won't have BDL's custom paint job on it due to the fire, but they've bought a gift certificate from Mike for me to send it to him later for the custom job after he's back up and running. So, I'll test it in basic black until then. I'm patient.

I would say it's not just the younger generation. I've definitely seen some grey haired people (profile pics) commenting on Stick's page when there's nothing being given away...the prospect of a freebie outweighing all else.

And there's good and bad apples in every group. Being the last year of Gen X (child of two Boomers born in '84) I'd like to think I'm one of the "good" ones from my age

There is lots of knowledge here, and plenty willing to share it. I have learned a heck of a lot. Like someone told me here, if you ask and are honestly looking for help, you might be amazed by all the responses.

All I can say is that I am grateful. Not only for this giveaway, but Stickman has taken time to answer lots of my poking and honest questions and just hanging out on the internet long before this giveaway thing happened.

That shit burns me up and I'm not even the one giving things away. It's like when you see an older kid get something for Christmas then act crappy about it. My sister in law and her step kids were over for Christmas and someone gave her stepson (age 10-12) a pair of woodland BDU camo pants (he does a lot of hunting with his dad) and he tossed them aside saying the camo pattern was all wrong...not realistic like Mossy Oak, and that it was an Army pattern and he doesn't like Army guys because they kill people. Knowing I'm a multiple deployment vet, the kid's dad looked at me and tried his hardest to melt into the couch.

The original plan was to start using entry numbers from the actual giveaway thread correct? It seems to me that it's moved strictly to Facebook. That's just my observations. I'm not passing judgement just throwing my two cents.... Which I'm going to need those back so I can buy ramen haha
