Rainier Arms (http://www.rainierarms.com) is going to release some new Forged Lowers in the next week or two. These lowers will be similar to the original Forged Lowers, and will keep the 45 degree selector feature. However, they are going to add the ability to allow the bolt to be locked to the rear by pressing in on the magazine release button and pulling the charging handle to the rear. Does this feature sound familiar? It should, if you're familiar with the AXTS A-DAC Lower, which has the same feature. Rainier Arms has licensed this in their new Forged Lower.

Prices will be slightly higher for this version, but unknown at this time. This will be updated once I get more information.

The original Forged lower will still be available, if you don't want or need this feature. The Mountain logo has also been added. Here are a quick couple of snap shots I took with my iPhone so please forgive the quality.

Hey UW, since you have seen them , do they have the tensioning screw like the other RA lowers? What about the mountain symbol on the front of the magwell, still there , removed or something else?

In case anyone is not familiar with the A-DAC and how it works. Here's a video that explains it:

Sign me up. I've been pining for one of these for years. The fact that Rainer backs it makes it that much better.

Ha, someone noticed!

I probably have 1/2 dozen of those serials. Missed the first batch of Noveske Gen II Lowers with that number though. I think I ended up getting #181 or something like that.

Hopefully you know that not only can you own that lower in CA, Rainier will ship it to your FFL with no problems. Sure it will be slightly neutered, but it's still good to go in the state.

No I know that, it's the feature that will be deemed useless.

Fair enough. I know there's no perfect solution, but I was fairly handy with an AR that ran an Exile Machine grip and fixed stock. Not perfect, but not bad with your limitations. No need to worry about 10 round mags or bullet buttons.

I have considered it but it looks goofy and like a range only toy :(

It definitely looks goofy, and I'm glad I don't have to worry about it anymore, but it's much more capable than as a range toy. Same concept as a Monster Man or a Kydex grip, but I found it easier to manipulate. When I ran it in monthly competitions, it usually helped me do very well, especially without the stupid BB.

awww man, i wish i had at least a fraction of that kind of luxury..but i suppose even with the blocked grip the features that you can still have are pretty good. just gotta train a lot and familiarize the actions..

I didn't realize that AXTS wasn't doing their own lowers anymore.

I think the deal is AXTS continues to build the AX556, so was willing to license the ADAC.
