Description:

The CASV-KM (http://www.vltorstore.com/vltor-keymod-casv/)handguard is a drop on rail system for any AR-15 platform equipped with an M4 flat top receiver. This year we introduce the CASV-KM (http://www.vltorstore.com/vltor-keymod-casv/), with the integrated KeyMod system. The KeyMod system breaks from the traditional fixed quad rail setup and allows the operator to decide where accessories or rails are mounted. KeyMod also allows for modularity between various different manufactures’ accessories.

CASV-KM8 is cut out for the use of an A2 front sight. The CASV-KM9 and CASV-KM12 use flip up sights.

• QD sling sockets on right and left side
• Compatible with all Milspec AR-15 parts and with most KeyMod mounted accessories

Oh heck yeah! In fact, I was going to remove my CASV from the current upper it's on and place it on the Colt that's coming......now, after this, it may stay where its at and I may extend my ramen noodle diet an extra month. I love the CASV's and this looks nice!

I still have one CASV Rail on an old Noveske Upper. I still like it. I wondered what happened to their KeyMod VIS project. I recall it was one of the first to come out with the KeyMod, but I haven't seen new news from them about it. Hopefully this is the start of some new products churning out at VLTOR.

VLTOR's website says that the vis-km is available for pre-order, but it also says that they were supposed to have shipped last month.

In stock at dsgarms.com. CASV-KM9-B. I have one on the way, should be delivered Monday. Have an FDE CASV-M I was going to use for a build but wanted black and happened to see them on dsg when looking for another part.

I'll have to check that out. Seems like it was a few years ago that they announced that, but VLTOR seemed to be really slow on releasing new product for awhile there. I'm a huge fan of the VIS, but it seems like they just haven't been promoting that or the rest of their products much.

Sorry to bump an old thread but after looking at the casv, I'm wondering what the point is of having the extra rail on top of the other rail? Can someone clue me in?

None really. I've got a couple, but have to use low optic mounts.
