CMT Tactical (http://www.cmttac.com) has announced the future release of their Billet Left Handed Upper Receiver. The pictures are of the prototype, but will mirror the style of their exisiting UPUR line. These will feature 7075 T6 Billet Aluminum. The LH upper will not feature a dust cover, as it would have to flip up to prevent it from interfering with the controls on that side of the receiver. As you can see the upper receiver will feature a forward assist and shell deflector.

As of now, CMT Tactical (http://www.cmttac.com) does not plan to offer a LH Bolt Carrier Group, so your options will likely be limited to Stag. More information and pictures to come as they release it or check out CMT Tactical's website (http://www.cmttac.com).

Description:

The Cross Machine Tool (http://www.cmttac.com) Ultra Precision Upper Receiver Part# UPUR-1LH (http://www.rainierarms.com/cmt-tact-upur-1lh-left-hand-eject-billet-upper-receiver) is the perfect Mate to your UHP-15 lower receiver or would also be a great match with any Mil-Spec lower. The UPUR-1LH is machined from Billet 7075 T6 Aluminum unlike the more commonly used 6061. Using the 7075 T6 aluminum gives the UP-UR a 65% increase in strength & rigidity over 6061 aluminum receivers. The UPUR-1LH is machined on a 5 Axis machining Center to reduce the number of operations/setups required to complete. This machining process allows the highest possible accuracy to be obtained over the traditional 3 or 4 Axis machining method. The UPUR-1LH is designed for increased function, performance & to provide an advanced modern appearance & feel to the AR15 platform weapon system. The Left Hand eject of the UPUR-1LH drastically reduces the amount of gasses exiting the chamber into the face of left handed shooters when shooting suppressed.

The UPUR-1LH (http://www.rainierarms.com/cmt-tact-upur-1lh-left-hand-eject-billet-upper-receiver)is available for order only thru Rainier Arms (http://www.rainierarms.com/cmt-tact-upur-1lh-left-hand-eject-billet-upper-receiver)

Normally, I would not be a proponent of a proprietary part like this, especially since I'll also have to buy a BCG, but I'm so tired of the gas in my face shooting suppressed. This might be my best option. I can't wait to build one out.

Wonder what it would take to make an AMBI BCG? Use it in both left and right handed systems. My brother is an engineer and he was talking about buying a CNC...

I'm going to use the one I bought for a suppressed setup, when I get around to it.

None that I am aware of, that's why I was asking! Was hoping CMT was going to do them too.

They kinda did, Stag is Continental Machine & Tool. I know it's not the CMT you're talking about, but they make good stuff. They used to make a lot of Noveske's components.

I like the looks better of the left handed uppers with no port door.

Is that just the photo or are the colors that far off on that receiver set?

That drives me crazy. I have multiple Mega sets that are the same way. I am slowly coating them as I have time, but I like the anodized black better than the Cerakote. I really need to get set up to do anodizing again. That set sure is amazing looking regardless.
