CMT Tactical Billet UHP15 Ambi Receiver Set

CMT Tactical (http://www.cmttac.com) is at it again with new products. A few days ago, they released a preview of their upcoming ambi magazine release on their UHP15 Receiver. Is that a sign of a fully ambi receiver set? Not much is known at this point, but keep checking for updates. We'll post them as they are released.

You know it just floors me when manufacturers send out these poor-quality images. Ok I'm *assuming* here, but they could easily render that same image at full quality and it would look real. What am I missing?

What you're missing Dave, is that they could have hired you to make a full 3D model and then the rest of us would really be jealous that there is a semi-working model, instead of a rendered picture. [:D]

Hehe yeah if I thought I could make a living from it I'd get an FFL and make firearm prototypes commercially. Unfortunately I've found most companies (even in other industries) like to keep their prototypes close to the chest, and they don't understand / aren't interested in the value of outsourcing their prototyping. It's a pity really, because my team is super fucking talented [:)]

As a lefty I just excited. I am a big fan of CMT's receivers, but I hate taking a mill to them to install Aero's PDQ ambi bolt catch. I do like the KAC-ish mag release.

I don't know about all the AMBI stuff... I doubt I would truly make any use of most of it... but I can say this about CMT Tactical... I highly doubt I would use any other upper/lower should I build another rifle or five.

(yeah, like I can only live with just one) ;)

Their stuff is just awesome. Fit and finish are fantastic but the no roll pins design... once you try it you will be hooked.

Is this lower mean to utilize standard 90 deg safeties? Might be the angle of the picture, but it seems liked the two marked positions look like less than 90 deg.

... either way, this will eventually make it's way to my BLK build ...

Still waiting for a few parts for the UPUR-1LH. Namely, I can't decide on a handguard or barrel. Going to run it suppressed, so I'm going to go with a 16" CHF or quality standard barrel.

UPR1 is your regular traditional one with the FA.

UPR2 has a deflector but no FA.

UPR 3 is slick side with no dust cover.

UPR4 is a slick side with the dust cover. (I have the UPR4) I love it.

Initially I had questions about needing the deflector but after some use of it, it's a non issue all together.

That is a good deal and I have to say the ambi is awesome. I'm tempted to use one to SBR my pistol now that I have played around with the one I got.
