So I figured it was time to get a 300 blackout after having every popular caliber and then some. I was able to pick up a new Rainier Arms Billet set when they were on sale on Revolvr. So after a couple of weeks the set shipped and I was finally able to pick it up earlier this week.

This set is a thing of beauty. It is identical to the 308 set that I recently won. Of course I'll have to get this set cerekoted bc it deserves that much awesomeness!

I was also able to get a steal on a barrel from Mad Dog Weapon Systems. It is a McGowan made barrel and if it's anything like the other barrels I've received, this will be a sub MOA barrel. It is chambered 300 blackout.

I have most everything else I need to compete the build. Only parts left to get is a rail and muzzle device. Of course I have all the other goodies you can add to her. I'll update as other parts come in. I have also already filed for the stamp and will wait for it to arrive before I actually build this one. I have a can in jail that should come out around/after first of the year.

Anyway looking forward to another great build with awesome components from Rainier!

Rainier Arms is one of my favorite places to shop as well. This is shaping up to be a really nice build. Tuning in for completion photos.

Thanks guys! Yes I have fallen in love with everything RA has to offer! I know quality when I see it. I also decided to go with a 7" Force rail on this build as well of finish it out.

Like I said I'm going to wait until I get it cerekoted and the stamp comes back before I acutely build this one. Although it's very hard when all the parts are yelling at me to be put together!

Curious if you have tried or thought about the .277?

Curious if you have tried or thought about the .277?

I have one already... I was one of the first. It is a great round and serves most all of purposes. This is strickly a just for fun build. Also the 300 is great with subs and that's the other reason I'm doing one that and I have most of the main calibers (223/556, 6.8, .277wlv, 308, 22LR) so this one finished out my series for now.

I love my WLV though it is one of my favorite rifles!

Thanks for your time. I am liking all the info I am seeing on that round...gotta try it.

Thanks again and keep us up to date on your 300 build as it progresses. Take care.

Mail Call!! Had quite a few goodies come in today and also got lucky enough to find some 220gr ammo at my LGS. So it was a good day today!

Also special thanks to chummerz and revolvr for the steal of a deal on the raptor Ch!

I'm probably going to do a kryptek with for tones. I'm a big fan of "black and tan" all but 2 rifles are that setup. I do have one black rifle and the other is the 308.

I'd love to send it to BDL but when I have a local guy that's gonna do it for almost nothing it's hard to argue....

Keeping an eye on this as well. Is this your first MFT stock? My last build I used one and I like it a lot. Don't get me wrong still like the MOE and CTR stocks I have but the MFT is now part of the decision making when looking at putting together a new rifle.

I totally stole 2 Ranier Arms CH's from Chummerz on Revolvr! Went back and forth a little on email, seems like a good guy! I really like that stock you bought!

One more piece of the puzzle left after the mail call that came yesterday while I was at work. It's nice to go to work 24 hours and come home a boxes of parts!

Only thing left is the AAC flash hider and the stamp itself!

Below is the 7" force rail, Vortex Sparc and BAD EPS.

I will be doing my SPR in Kryptek Highlander. Kryptek FTW.

A few photos to update with. I got bored tonight and decided to put most of it together while the barrel of off being cerekoted. I plan to eventually get the entire rifle done by BDL but when taxes on all three vehicles hit in the month...yea...

Anyway here's how she looks at the moment. Only thing not pictured is the barrel of course and the AAC QD 3 prong mount.

Ohhh and for others interested in this set. You cannot use the XMR mag release nor can you use KNS pins. The ambi bolt release prohibits these items from being installed

Looks good. Are you able to use that low of a mount?

Dstrbdmedic167
22 October 2014, 18:02
Thanks! From what I've tested thus far yes. I'm as tall (5'8)" as I am wide so short arms and left handed shooter as well. Everytime I throw it up it seems to be right. Of course I still don't have the barrel yet so that could and probably will throw it off . If I need the taller it's no biggie, but I'd prefer to have the lower.

So today was a good day... Got my stamp approved(40 days) and got some testing in. My sole purpose with this build was a fun subsonic plinking gun since I'll have a suppressor around first of the year. I loaded up 190gr Nosler bullets and went to work. I have found the load I'm gonna go with that is around 1"MOA and still subsonic. I found a much tighter group but it was above the SOS... Anyway here are some final pics of the build completed... The last was two in one hole but again was supersonic... So I'm gonna go with the load with best grouping that stays below 1100fps...

Not to hijack the thread, but is that a Vortex SPARC or SPARCII, and how do you like it?

Sparc 1 for it on PSA sale a few weeks ago.. $120 shipped. It wife "bought" it for me for our anniversary lol... And I love it. Holds zero pretty well and easy to get on target. Have used it a great deal but enough to say I'll keep it and for $120 it's hard pressed t be beat....
