Titanium Nitride (TiN) ?

Anybody know of any local companies that do Titanium Nitride (TiN) coating or Nickel Boron ? I'm looking to have a few bolts & parts coated . I'm in Port Angeles btw[BD]

I think parallax tactical in san diego offers Ti-Ni, but honestly id have a local cerakote applicator apply Micro slick over NiB or Ti-Ni. Another option is to send it to Robar and have the NP3 finish applied, it offers much more than the 2 options you listed.

I don't know how much it cost to have something NiB coated, but Aimsuplus has these for $99.99.

Doesn't seem cost effective to have your own parts coated vs purchasing pre-coated parts.

TiN coating is extremely involved. You probably won't find any local shops offering it. Most companies that do offer it are usually sending it to one of the large companies out there to have them done in bulk. It would be pretty costly to just have a few parts done and not have them in a batch.

I had my Glock 17 barrel TiN coated by MG Precision Arms in Canton, OH. They did a great job and the turn around time was pretty quick. Well worth checking out.

Curious - at least for BCG's - are there any long-term/greater advantages to have a carrier coated in TiN vs. NiB? It seems like they both do the same things, no? I've mostly seen carriers in NiB but have more recently been seeing TiN.

It does increase wear resistance. I believe Salient (I could be wrong here) got the whole thing kicked off, and people started trying for that look. I personally don't care for the look of a gold bolt on a working gun. But on range and competition pieces it does fit pretty well.
I like the option in the link Carbonscoring posted where you can get a black TiN option.
