This is the only picture I have at the moment....halfway through making one. These do have a second recoil lug forward of the front KeyMod screw/nut, to help stabilize it a bit more.

Yeah, I know, not that exciting. Originally I was hoping it would also fit the m951 variants, but it will depend on the tailcap used. Some of those have really large dual function caps and will run into the back end of the inline mount.

Which M-Lok rail(s) do you use? I'm always curious about the M-Lok handguards on the market because I don't see too many of them in the picture threads except from photographers who seem to have a decent amount of gear. I'd love to see some numbers on market penetration compared to KeyMod and then see how it matches up with our parts and what is currently popular.

I've got a Parallax Tactical FFSSR on my Mega billet build.

I've also got an SLR that is currently sitting on my bench when I swapped it for my 9.5" Geissele Mk4. Eventually it will get used again as I really liked the way it felt. My preference is for Geissele rails, so I really want to try the MK8.

Here's the PT:

Ah, I see how they removed the picatinny off the sides and bottom at the front. It does seem *slightly* odd to have it at the rear 6 o'clock though? Nice picture, by the way.

You should definitely get your hands on a MK8. I really like mine. I had a MK1 in the past, and regret selling it. Geissele rails seem to be more rigid than anything else out there.

More prototype show off time. This is a final offset scout mount, fresh off the mill (well 2 days off the mill). It's very thin (4mm), smooth and clean, and the large chamfer on the bottom edge blends in nicely with the NSR.
http://i.imgur.com/5jvl11X.jpg

This is with our 300 series light body, and the light in the 2nd closest position to the top rail. Note the minuscule clearance even with the widest front sight (diamondhead).
http://i.imgur.com/rPFHijQ.jpg

This is a down the rail shot with our body, same position as previous picture (2nd closest to the top rail).
http://i.imgur.com/Sl4PKIy.jpg

And lastly, this is the OEM scout body, which can only fit on the right side of the handguard if you use the 4th position, furthest from the top rail.
http://i.imgur.com/LA34gfq.jpg

This mount will, of course, work on other handguards, not just the NSR, but it won't be tucked in quite as tightly. We had to base it around the NSR because it's the thinnest handguard, width-wise. It still puts the light in a very good position on the MI SSK, Parallax, etc. It even works nicely on the BCM KMR, although the light won't be as close to the surface of the 45 degree flat when compared to our inline mount.

The KeyMod parts will be going to anodizing at the beginning of next week. Probably available after SHOT. Standard disclaimer applies - no promises on release dates. :)

Wow that combo looks incredible on that NSR rail! Well done sir!

As a self admitted torch noob, how much to get that exact setup on my noveske build with the same NSR? Mount, light, body the works?

This would be my primary shtf rifle and I'm embarrassed to admit none of my rifles have lights at the moment, and I'm acutely aware of how big of a liability that could potentially be..

Just been so focused on actual rifle parts, accessories sometimes slip my mind.. : /

I completely agree with you about the rails near the back. They really serve no purpose, other than looks.

I generally don't like round handguards, I prefer to have something that digs into my hands a bit. The PT rail is good, but a bit too round. I've more-or-less turned this into a bench gun (especially since it's the most accurate gun I own). The SLR handguards are more like the Geissele in that they have more pronounced angles on the sides.

My plan right now is to put the 13" MK4 onto a build I'm doing with Salient receivers. I'd like to eventually put a MK8 on it. Maybe this summer.

Here's the SLR:

It lets you center your scope to eliminate cant and level it parallel to the mount. I bought one of those too. It was one of those "why in the hell didn't I think of that things". Push it in between the flat of your mount, and the flat on the "bell" where the scope turrets protrude of (can't recall what that's called) When pushed in, your scope will be parallel to the tool and mount. No cant in the cross hairs. You do have to have enough space in the gap between the two for the tool to fit, but that shouldn't be a problem with most mounts. Pretty cool, huh?

I've seen this before. Did Centurion send the wrong screws? Their polymer scout mount should have two 1/4" screws and two 3/8" screws. There have been complaints about receiving four 3/8" screws instead of the shorter ones.

Our light bodies actually have deeper threading than the OEM surefire body, so this issue would be even worse with an M300B.

OEM body mounting holes are ~0.24" deep. Arisaka body is ~0.255" deep.

Realistically, how many people out there:
1. Own an elzetta alpha.
2. Don't like the elzetta tape switch.
3. Are willing to buy a surefire sr tape switch.
4. Are willing to buy an adapter to use the surefire tape switch.

Walt and I like to make cool parts that serve a purpose, but I'm a little concerned that there isn't a particularly large market with the above criteria. I could be wrong, of course, but these are the questions we have to ask before we make something.

Edit: I realize this post comes off a bit negative-nancy. I'm just showing you my thought process. :)

I've wanted an elzetta for some time now. Trying to decide between either the bravo or Charlie model for use on my duty belt or just go the surefire route. Still liking elzetta just to give em a try. Also once I see his thought process I agree with you.

Few weeks at the earliest. I'll be honest, M-Lok isn't doing much for us, so we haven't prioritized it on this design.

Switch functionality is the same as the M300/600/620. Momentary on, press forward until it clicks for constant on.

We haven't finalized pricing yet. 600 series bodies will probably be just a little bit more than the 300 series since it's more aluminum and more machine time. We're aiming for $30 on the tail caps, but I'm not certain if it will be possible.

Leveler, revision 2. We had a lot of problems with the orange color, so these are clear anodized. The slot on the base is offset to help with some one-piece scope mounts that ramp upwards. Voodoo_man had a good example of this specific issue, which the new bases should help with. The larger wedge allows leveling with extra high rings.

So this may or may not be the place for this question but I didnt really think it warrented its own thread, but if it is deemed that it should please feel free to move it. I was wondering if the slots on an NSR at the 11 and 1 o clock positions would technically accept M-Lok type accessories and mounting hardware. I also appologize if this comes off as a "noob" question but its something I have always wondered about and I have never had any M-lok stuff around to try it out.

Unfortunately they don't. They're slightly too slim for the M-Lok nuts to fit through. Too bad...otherwise you could throw an inline mount on there. This is one of the main reasons we decided to manufacture the offset scout mounts, which put the light in exactly the same spot, and are as low profile as possible on the NSR:

Luckily we only sent 2/3 of the production run, so the other 1/3 is on the way. This still means they won't be back for a couple weeks, and leaves the question about whether they will be anodized properly.

If you look at the top/first picture you will see the small leveler piece against the other small piece that attaches to the flat part of the mount. the small leveler piece is pushed forward until the optic is level and sits on it - tighten the screws and you are done.

Only issue is - and this can be avoided at install, you just need to mount the optic a little further back (towards the rear of the mount), not like mine which is mounted slightly forward which only allows a small portion of the leveler to have contact.

I have found with the Aero Mount because of it's sideways clamshell type clamp it kept on taking my scope off of level when I tightened it down. It would rotate the scope as it gets tightened.

I leveled mine by finding a flat surface that was level. I used a small bubble level on that. Then I put the level on top of the turret and leveled it like that as well. The first time I tried it it took me a while. With this new scope it took me 5 or 6 tries to get it on there level after it was all tightened down.

Few crappy cell phone pics of our inline mount, which I had 3D printed to test compatibility and fit before we spool up for production. The ring is separate from the base, and can be reversed, and moved left-right just like our inline and offset scout mounts. You can also cantilever it to get the ring past the front of the Picatinny rail. Will be for KeyMod and M-Lok.

On another note, does anyone have a Scout M620 and want to run it on their KMR or URX4? I have a couple prototype M620 inline mounts that need to be used a bit. Free gear, in exchange for a little feedback.

Its not that I don't want to try it I just don't have the stuff I need to say "ME ME ME". Trust me there is a lot of products from your products page I want to get.. but it will just have to happen over time. Everything looks solid and from the feedback of all the people that I know that have purchased anything from you I know I want to get my hands on it but it will have to wait a little while.

Got 3 trips to Alabama planned, 1 trip to Auburn, WA planned and I got to finish up a precision rifle, sbr rifle and finish putting together my competition gear for this year.

Will,

I think you nailed it on the head though... I think this product fills a niche in the light world. I don't see too many 620's or 951's out there. I imagine lots of guys still in or getting out of the service have 951's but the mount will have to be modified slightly, and I forgot how huge these lights are compared to the scouts. [BD]

Yeah, your 620V is monstrous. The newer 620 is the same as a 600, just with more space between the mounting lugs. Too bad the 951 is also different...perhaps surefire wouldn't be in so much financial trouble if they bothered to standardize a little more. :)

These have taken way too long, but they're almost ready. Obviously Monty makes a very good and inexpensive Scout mount for his rails, but depending on your front sight, it might require you to shift some things around. We resized our Offset Scout Mount to fit the CMR very close, and provide the lateral adjustment. I used a stock Surefire body for this picture to illustrate what the mount can do (and the Centurion mount cannot).

That looks fantastic!

I do like the inexpensiveness of Monty's CMR Scout Mount, but it's cheap looking. (Although it does work very well)

The rifle it's on needs a few rounds through it anyways. I just swapped out the receiver extension to an A5, to soften it up some while suppressed.

This is what I assumed, although it'd have to be a pretty thin cord. 550 is tough to thread, especially after the ends are melted.

I've seen thin braided stainless wire used on various weapons. All of our pintle mount pins are "tied" to the weapon or mounts like that, but not sure how easy that is to come by for small arms.

Mail call today. Really like the scout button. Feels good and is a mm or 2 thinner in outer diameter than the stock button. I find the knurling to be grippier too.
