V7 has announced the release of an all titanium version of their safety, in 57° Ambi & Right-hand and 90° Right-hand versions.

Looks like they're $10 more than the titanium core/aluminum lever versions.

Looks pretty good, but not much different than the aluminum version. Is there any weight difference between the two?

Any idea how the lever is indexed on the shaft?

Pretty intricate machine work on those. Seems like a strong way to attach the levers too.

The way they index is very similar to that of a SCAR or Noveske STS.

Man I really dig V7's stuff, I visit their website once a day just to drool over their goodies. But I need another rifle like I need another ex wife...

Yep... similar attachment and Noveske STS 60 degree vs V7 57 degree throw.

At least the price point is a little easier to swallow than say the AXTS.

I emailed V7 asking when they would make a titanium BN for the Noveske NSR rail like they did for the KMR. Still no response ;)

Noveske short throw safety for comparison..

As much as V7 has borrowed from Noveske, I'd bet the barrel nut for their MPR rail would fit a NSR. Should ask them if they plan on making a titanium version of it.

looks okay, but I'm too much of a BAD fanboy. I wonder if they addressed the potential for galling with a steel detent and the Ti core.

May have to try that MPR nut when I'm putting together my Noveske. Then send the pics over to V7 like ... "Oh btw forget about developing a BN for the NSR like I asked, y'all already did..."

Priceless. Would be worth the loss of it not working for the chance that it could lol

If the guys at V7 designed or helped design the NSR when they were at Noveske, is it still considered borrowing? [:D]

I never considered that with my BAD Ti EPS. Now I am going to have to look for Ti detents!

I guess it depends whether Joel or Noveske owns the rights.

The Parallax Tactical barrel nut looks very similar too.

I would not call this similar in any way to the SCAR safety. The SCAR uses a cross bolt oriented 90* to the torque shear and completely eliminates the possibility of use causing the screw to loosen. Far superior IMO to this style design. Even with tolerences in the thousandth's of the tongue and groove, it will still allow the forces to act on that screw and loosen it. I have 2 of the original Knights Ambi selectors I no longer use after the levers loosened even with Locktite. Love the Noveske's with the Magpul levers. I just wish they made a true left hand one and not the Ambi or RH.
