I've been seeing some companies start putting stuff out on the interwebs in advance of SHOT - so, I figured I'd start up a thread for all to see what's up and coming, in a centralized location (or thread in this case).

Anyone else who finds articles, videos, etc feel free to add to this thread.

Bill posted up this video earlier today on YouTube:

The folks over at Haley Strategic released some of their products in this .pdf (and yes, there are a lot of pretty pictures): Haley Strategic Products 2015 (http://www.haleystrategic.com/downloads/HaleyStrategicProducts_2015.pdf)

I want to too. Got a friend who owns an AK that also loves Geissele products, gonna see if I can convince him to try one ...

And for $50 - not bad at all.

I'm starting to get the impression that the videographer/photographer hired for Magpul doesn't completely understand how NVDs work.

I'm starting to get the impression that the videographer/photographer hired for Magpul doesn't completely understand how NVDs work.
If that's the case - I'm more concerned/shocked that someone from the Magpul side of house didn't correct this. But then again, you and I know very little of what happened behind the scenes. Speculation is what it is.

gatordev
16 January 2015, 14:20
I'm also curious what happened after they were done shooting for each jump. You'd think he would have to flip them up so he can see when he lands, so does he flip them up and hope the locking mechanism holds with the pull and doesn't come down to whack him in the face? Or does he try and take them off and put them in his kit? Maybe the mounts are stronger on the Ops Core (or whatever that is), but I wouldn't trust the locking mechanism to hold on the mounts I use.

Or maybe I'm just over-estimating the force of deceleration with the chute opening.

Thompson

No, I think it's a valid point. Like you said - hope that mount was strong enough to with stand that force.

gatordev,

If you're watching, I know the AR SBR is tired, but for once, something from LWRC looks interesting. Looks like they'll have a sample for SHOT, but won't be ready to take any orders yet.

Ooo, that is interesting. Kind of a USC/UMP that had sex with an AR. Or a .45 Carbine custom. That will be interesting to watch.

I'll try and grab a pic on Monday of my different flavor when I (finally) get to the range. Assuming everything functions, a Form 1 will follow shortly.

I'm curious to hear what the gas system they'll use. I remember seeing that picture a few days ago (I think) on FB and people were speculating that they might go for piston system. But who knows.

Knowing that it's made by LWRC, my bet is that it's gonna be leaning on the pricier side.

It is very pretty though.

Sig has been playing too much call of duty and is trying way too hard, their stuff looks and feels cheap, Battle Arms Development will rule the Galaxy, OSS makes everyone else obsolete in the suppressor world, everyone is bringing out some sort of a rem 700 chassis, and the Zombie crap is slowly going bye bye (thanks goodness)
