Huntertown Arms makes decent cans. BUT... I only own their pistol cans. Hard to get the whole story on what happened just from those clips. I still like sealed cans for centerfire rifles with an inconel first baffle.

Their customer service is horrible. I know several NFA dealers in NC who have either stopped carrying or refused to carry HTA because of issues they've had/heard about. I've also read their cans are loud....sometimes the inexpensive route can end up costing you in the long run.

This is why I went with names I knew I could trust. I'll try anything out 99% of the time but with the amount if money and time vested with NFA items I have to go against my normal attitude.

that is very true better spend the extra coins to get a better NFA item

I have a few of their 22 cans. I got them for $99 a piece a few years. back. They work great and to my ear they are as quiet if not quieter then my more expensive options.

While I'm glad that some people like to go out and take chances on unknown entities, I am done with doing so with my own money.

The gun market is full of boobs that have started up companies, given them cool names, tried to market to the special snowflakes, but don't know shit from brown bread. The only reason they get away with what they do is that the AR market isn't about shooting guns, it's about dressing up man-barbies to post pictures on the internut. In which case the products do exactly what they are designed to do, make the buyer feel better about himself and make money for the manufacturer.

What a bunch of retards. I'll bet the instructions specifically state not to use the can on a barrel less than 12" or so. Anything less than that and you have a HUGE amount of pressure inside the can. Add automatic fire into the mix and it's no wonder it blew up.

Be a retard, blow your stuff up. RTFM people!

Here you go (http://www.huntertownarms.com/k556.php), says right on the web site minimum barrel length is 11.5".

"Huntertown Arms warrants its suppressors for life against everything but stupid."

You know Dave, that's a great point, and I've never shot any Huntertown cans with barrels under 16"

Goes to show, if you have a short barrel, make sure your can warranty covers the length you plan on shooting it with.
