With all the other negative stuff out there on a day to day basis the media seems to clamor for, here's a good story about a lady who used her late husband's estate to outfit all the K9s in her local Sheriff's Dept with ballistic vests.
In Iraq, I loved our Belgian Malinois, Arkhan, who sniffed for explosives to keep us safe. He didn't have a vest and I always feared for his safety even though I wasn't his handler. Dog person, I guess.
