Posting my initial impressions on the Lantac E-BCG. Similar to other high end boutique BCG's on the market Lantac's E-BCG boast a long list of features over the standard Milspec BCG, but also commands a much higher price than the standard carpenter steel Milspec BCG. So is it worth it? Hopefully this Review will answer that question for some of you.

The BCG out of the package feels extremely solid and well machined. The EXO coating is also excellent and very slick as advertised. For testing I will be comparing this to a PSA Full Auto BCG with MP marked bolt (Milspec BCG). I will be honest, there are tooling marks on the BCG in specific places (mostly around the gas key, and on the port side of the bolt in the channel below the Lantac logo), so finish is not quite perfection, but for a hard use BCG I imagine it will hold up just fine. The gas key could literally be the definition for proper staking. Even with the tooling marks the pictures do not do this thing justice. The Lantac E-BCG certainly has the high end AR sex appeal to it. The BCG looks excellent peeking out of the ejection port.

The "Flared Boss" measured .976" at the widest portion, as compared to the PSA Milspec at .9305" the Lantac is significantly larger at the back of the carrier. Possibly will reduce carrier tilt, but they claim it will also improve accuracy as lock up is more consistent in battery.

The bolt looks fairly standard with an "M" marking (assuming marking for MPI testing), bolt face is very clean-

The BCG will be ran in an Aero Precision M4E1 7.5" AR Pistol, that I am currently finishing building. The upper was purchased new so wear can be shown as compared to a Milspec system. I will show wear at 100 rounds, 500 rounds, and then every 1000 rounds for as long as I can afford components. The comparison rifle will be a PSA FN Made 16'' M4 CMV Chrome-Lined upper. Accuracy will not be compared as barrel lengths differ so much, but this should give consumers a good idea on the benefits of the rounded LANTAC CP-R360 domed cam pin. I will also test some subsonic loads to see how the re-designed gas ports affect suppressed fire.

Initial Impression 8.5/10
Bottom line the Lantac E-BCG is a solid choice for anyone. It looks like it's worth the higher end price tag, but the tooling marks may be disappointing for a perfectionist. Inside the upper, however, it is a work of art. With this many features it should also function flawlessly and be fairly accurate while reducing wear and tear on your upper receiver.

Full List of Features from Lantac's Website:

M16 Full Auto Style for increased mass and lock time.
Our new BCG is precision machined from 8620 Steel with a shot peened bolt manufactured from Carpenter 158 and Magnetically Particle Inspected.
The entire carrier assembly is NiB, Electroless Nickel Boron coated with the patented, advanced UCT EXO process, unlike standard NiB coatings.
This offers extreme lubricity with a friction coefficent of .02 and surface hardness of 82-85 Rockwell C.
The carriers patent pending design features unique shrouded and forward facing gas ports that have also been re sized so that gas is vented differently to a standard carrier.
This results in a system that runs flatter with a smoother energy pulse.
In addition the system also runs cooler and cleaner, there is also less pressurization of the upper receiver when running a suppressed barrel.
The flared boss at the tail of the carrier enhances the BCG's lock position within the upper and makes it more consistent, resulting in an accuracy improvement.
All critical dimensions are hard turned / ground after heat treat and the bore of the carrier and gas key have been hard chrome lined for the best possible wear resistance.
All E-BCG's feature the LANTAC CP-R360 patent pending domed cam pin that is machined from 17-4PH Stainless Steel and hardened to H900 condition (45RC approx).
The ultra smooth head reduces wear within the upper receiver.
The BCG's 11.7oz weight helps to increase lock time and smoother operation.
Gas keys are properly staked at four points and only grade 8 fasteners are used in assembly.

The E-BCG's forward porting and unique shape assist in reducing pressurization inside the upper receiver that can be caused by short barrel rifles running suppressors.
However, it should be noted that the E-BCG is not a complete solution for this issue and all rifles are different. 'Over Gassed' guns will suffer to a larger extent from this problem.

Look forward to seeing what you think of it once you've got some rounds through it. The first post looks great.

So I got the build complete this week and was able to take the rifle out today. The AR ran 100% and the Lantac BCG is excellent. After 100 rounds it still looks new, most of the grime wiped off onto my glove just handling the BCG. I noticed no carrier bounce either (it was present in Lantac's own video that the carrier was slightly bouncing into battery), I did not experience this with my example. The next milestone is 500 rounds, and then 1000.

Here are the photos from the shoot, and the wear on the upper.

Zero internal wear where the rounded cam pin rides.

Even when it's filthy the Lantac looks clean.

Literally just pulled it out of the rifle, most of the grime deposited on my glove.

Post-evaluation Impression 10/10
The Lantac E-BCG is hands down the best carrier I have ran in any of my rifles. Out of the box 100% reliability with all of my hand-loads from mild plinking loads, to full pressure 5.56. Not just being reliable, the E-BCG is a piece of machined artwork in motion. The EXO finish is extremely slick, and carbon literally wipes off with handling making cleaning a breeze. Every surface is thought out to reduce wear, and it shows. It would be arguable that the Lantac is the best BCG on the market.

Note: I am not Military or L/E, I am simply a guy in the PNW who loves shooting and has a great appreciation for firearms that work as tools. I run my guns hard and try to be as non-biased as possible.

Nice review, the video is a nice touch. Would like to see the E-BCG run in the same rifle that the mil-spec was run in. Also would like to see it run suppressed. Do you have a suppressor?

I will try to get some video of the E-BCG in the 16" rifle next weekend. I don't own a suppressor (yet), but I have a buddy who has one of the oil filter setups that I may be able to use. Or if anyone is in Southern Oregon and wants to have an outing where I can play with theirs I would post that video.

Isnt the flat part of the domed cam pin supposed to face forward? I purchased one (scored it for $220) for my standard AR and just got a second i was so happy with it. Looks very sharp as you mentioned.

Hmmm... mine doesnt appear to have those rough tooling marks under the lantac logo like yours does? Ill have to look again tonight and get a closer pic. Id better check them both.

I run this BCG in all my ARs. I absolutely love it. It's a very good BCG.

Yes it is. The OP has his in backwards.

This BCG shines even more when suppressed. The forward facing exhaust ports really help blast the extra gas away from your face.

I have seen pictures of it going in both ways, and it was how I received it for the T&E. I don't think it has impacted anything negatively, but I have already noticed this and changed it.

Interesting... I think my can pin has wear but my bcg definitely has better machining under the logo.

And that's how the BCG came straight out of the package from Lantac.

Just wanted to update I am at 3500 rounds approximately and it still looks like new.
