Magpul has announced the production version of the Rear MBUS (Magpul BackUp Sight).

It is a two aperture rear sight which is similar to the apertures on a standard AR15. The unit is primarily polymer, and is raised by pressing down on a release point. The spring loaded sight then launches itself into position with an audible click. The sight is held in place via spring tension, and is able to be struck, and bounce back into position without damage. The MBUS is adjustable for windage by using the windage knob on the right side (as viewed when shooting). The MBUS is held in place with a screw running through the body, and into a nut on the opposite side. The threads on the screw have been pretreated with a thread locker to avoid the screw or nut working loose under recoil or vibration.
