Had a little meetup again today will Slippers from Arisaka. We pretty much just had a fun filled afternoon of shooting steel and BS. I got to shoot some of his goodies which included his ACOG, Noveske Build And got to mess around with one of those Scalarworks mount and aimpoint.

We had a very relaxed day as you can see here.

He also got to mess around with all of my builds with included the 277wlv in both the 16" and 12.5", the Arcus rifle, my 300blk SBR, my 15-22 suppressed and of course I let him grab the reigns on the 308 build.

He quickly changed his position after this shot with the 308 lol

All in all it was a fun filled day as it always is with Will. Glad that he only lives an hour away and we both have the opportunity to meet during the week.

We shot at my place this time which only has about 100 yards as it is currently setup. I had purchased some steel plates last year so I had those setup on a temporary stand. Fun times were had there if for nothing more than laughing at my temporary stand.
Needless to say it didn't last the entire meet up lol.

If anyone is remotely near me and would like to get together just let me know and it can happen. Will upload a video shortly.

Now I gots to get to cleaning.

Good question. I'm about ready to pass it along to get next contestant. It's been fun but I gots plenty to work on this summer.

Ohh and me and Will did some trading today. He's got the pic and info so I'll let him tell about it. 😉

Good to get out and relaxed sessions with folks, especially with a nice assortment of hardware. Question, have you been shooting any supers in the 12.5 and the 16'' Wolvies? Just curious on the suppression difference as far as sound levels. Was wondering if the 16 mid made made enough difference to sacrifice the shortness of my 10.5 or is 12.5 long enough to not be a difference from the 16?

I've shot supers through the 12.5" and 16" but I done any testing or anything to see the difference yet. I plan too soon might could next week or sometime this weekend and see what the chrono says on them.

I was mainly wondering about the sound levels. My 10.5'' works good suppressed, but my 16'' 6.8 is noticeably quitter than the 10.5'' Wolverine. I had already expected the shorty to be louder but the difference is almost enough to make want to go 16'' in the WLV as well. Just wondering if the 12.5 is a happy medium.

I'll make a video up for us and you an see for yourself. I don't recall any notable difference. But I'll do the video and you can see for yourself

The ability to play around with subs every now and then would almost justify one of the 12.5s over my 10.5 anyway. I shoulda got one when the sale was on.

Yes, yes you should have. Will can comment on how well it does with the 150gr subs. He can also attest to how accurate my comparison video was being as he got to hear both first hand.

Many thanks to Dstrbd for a fun afternoon. He let me shoot his whole arsenal. That .308 really pushes you around! Especially when you're lazy-oafing it in a camp chair. [:)]

To my ear, subsonic 300 blk is louder than 277 wlv. It's not a huge difference, but it's noticeable.

I also traded my noveske 18" for his sweet m&p22. That's my NF already moved over to the new hotness. [:)][:D][BD][crazy]

As I said you, and anyone that's wants to drive here is welcome anytime. I don't have a professional facility but I can provide a good time none the less.

Best Trade EVER!!! [BD]

It was an informal get together. But as I said I have no issues with anyone that wants to meet up and come down. As I said it's no high tech facility just a makeshift range on a part of my family's land. Let me know and we can do it again soon. I think Slippers enjoyed the country atmosphere lol...

It's on the farm where I shoot. I haven't woke the dead yet so I think we're ok.

Nice video - but it looks like you need a heavier plate !! [BD]

Dstrbdmedic167
12 June 2015, 12:43
Thanks Jerry! Plate is ½" AR500 steel. I talked to a metal shop about making one for me but they were taking to long and wanted too much. I threw that together in 30 minutes. I knew it wouldn't last much more than this outing. I'll have a more permanent setup next time.

Using chains will add a good bit of weight and also prevent them from swinging around and twisting.

If I could shoot in my backyard or had a place like yours, I'd try to fabricate something like this: http://jcsteeltargets.mycustomevent.com/ShoppingCart.aspx?com=detailview&iid=30&source=search&returncom=productlist&cid=247

I was looking around today and someone had taken one of the 80" U-Posts from Lowes/Home Depot for temporary fencing, driven it into the ground, and bent the top 2 feet at a right angle. Then chains to hang a target. If you don't need to move it, it's a $6.50 solution, and pretty durable.

Yea ill try to find some free time and just weld one up myself. Not like I can't but I'd rather just pay someone these days. Time is harder to find than money.

As always we had a blast today. Slippers brought a test stand to hang his newly acquired steel targets and it worked great. Hotter than hades but still fun.

I got a headache taking this shot with my phone but this turned out awesome. It's off of the T&E rifle!

A good drive that's about half way for me to where I drove last year for the 68 range day. I guess it depends on which way
